    1996 Ford E450 ERV 4x4 conversion-$60k

Bump. We found an rv that we like so I’m very motivated to sell. I can also arrange for it to be painted for the buyer but obviously that would minimize how much I’m willing to negotiate on the price.

    1996 Ford E450 ERV 4x4 conversion-$60k

I went to Ford today. Per the VIN (1FDLE40F9THA61245) it has a 50 gallon fuel tank.

    1996 Ford E450 ERV 4x4 conversion-$60k

I haven’t had any other issues besides the hpop and I haven’t replaced anything in the engine bay besides the up pipes when noticed they were leaking a little. The rubber fuel lines between the mechanical fuel pump and fuel bowl do have some cracking of the outer sheath so I had plans to rebuild...

    1996 Ford E450 ERV 4x4 conversion-$60k

Did you ever address the different gear ratios between the axles? I did not, I spoke with Chris at UJoint about it and also asked the shop who did the install and they said it would be fine since it was less than a 2% difference. I just took their word for it and haven’t had any issues. What...

BUYER BEWARE 1996 Chinook Concourse Side Entry 7.3

Hopefully whoever bought it makes it into a sweet rig! It’s possible, just might take a lot of elbow grease and/or money. Who knows, maybe I was overly cautious….it would be cool if they posted the progress somewhere

BUYER BEWARE 1996 Chinook Concourse Side Entry 7.3

Yea fortunately I used my credit card on PayPal and am going through the dispute process now. I'm also a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and although I was excited about this Chinook, I've decided to put more into my current van and I think it will end up being a better rig...

Red Cross ERV 4x4 camper build

Small world! I’m in Hollister. Yea I took a little break but we decided to do some interior upgrades soon so once I finish the projects at the house I’ll be working on this again. I’ll keep this updated.

BUYER BEWARE 1996 Chinook Concourse Side Entry 7.3

The seller did not argue my diagnosis and I offered him $25k as is ( I felt that was more than fair considering the potential work needed) after I made that offer I was promptly kicked off of his property. I asked for my $1000 deposit back since it was not as advertised and he lied about the...

BUYER BEWARE 1996 Chinook Concourse Side Entry 7.3

I thought I found the Chinook for me but unfortunately after a thorough inspection I decided against it. I’m posting on here because the seller stated that there were other people interested and I’d hate for someone to end up with more of a project than they were expecting. Before flying out to...

Red Cross ERV 4x4 camper build

I've now been driving the van with this setup for almost a year and have yet to have any issues. Granted that I only shift into 4x4 when there's a lot of snow on the ground. Ideally I know they are supposed to match exactly but so far things have been working fine. After doing some research it...

Red Cross ERV 4x4 camper build

Good to know! I plan to replace the rear axle in the future and I’ll address this issue then. I don’t plan to use 4x4 unless it’s slick or loose so I think it’ll be manageable. Thanks for the heads up.
