I'm not a pilot unfortunately, but I work for a company that fuels all of the commercial flights in and out of Fairbanks, provides heating oil to customers all throughout the borough, and specifically, I maintain the entire Fairbanks fleet of UPS package cars. It was too bad we missed an...
So, small world. I just saw your rig at the Proflight in Fairbanks, Alaska several weeks back. I work just down the way from there. I'll be honest, I stopped and took pictures. Your rig is awesome and it's exactly how I want to set up my first gen. Props.
If the rest of the truck is in good enough shape, go for it, but beware that "head gasket" can turn into possible cylinder head/motor quickly once its torn down.
It wouldn't hurt anything, and honestly it will let you know if anything else is going wrong in the Trans.. I.e. Larger particles stuck to the magnet. I would install the OEM pickup screen as I don't know if the aftermarket ones from NAPA or otherwise are at the same micron equivalent. I would...
I've always been a fan of the full flush. Get fluid to Normal Operating Temp, check level. Remove the outgoing line from the cooler into a bucket with ability to measure the amount coming out. Turn truck on at idle until fluid pours out. After 4ish qts come out it will begin to spit, turn truck...
1500 miles on my SPC's over mixed pavement and gravel/trails and I've been happy so far. I've read that the uniballs take a bit more maintenance simply because they're unsealed and exposed to the elements which if I were to use those here in Alaska, not long and they'd be toast from all the...
Sounds can resonate through the chassis. Even though it sounds like it is coming from one corner, it can actually be a different one. Replacing parts without finding the source of the problem is a substantial waste of money and time.
Put the truck on four jack stands and put it in 4H and in...
Tires generally vibrate the faster you go given that they're not separated. Especially, if braking/throttle make no difference, then alignment/tires will probably be the source. If the tires are cupped on the inside tread and you have negative camber it will only make the vibes worse as speed...
So, over this past weekend I embarked on replacing the suspension with the above listed parts. Needless to say, I ran into a few snags.
Now although I didn't take any before or during pictures of the process, I'll say these few things and then post some pictures of the after.
Number 1 - If...
You're welcome. The stuff is also known as marine board and HDPE sheeting. We have it on a few of our shop trucks here in Alaska and looks and works great. I'll take a few pictures of it this coming week to show you and example. I recently removed the small non-TRD "flares" on my '01 Tundra and...
If you're looking to kick your wheel wells out, look into some ptex sheets. Same base material that line snowboards etc. you can buy it in square meters and cut it to the shape you need. Much cheaper than new fender flares and they're flexible when you rub against something on the trails.
I found your source for the test of the multiple Lux Meters, but it's only one person doing one test. No one can just go off of one persons research, verification through replication.
GTR lighting is not the house brand of HR. HR is a distributor.
I was also unable to find anywhere on...
