Should’ve noted it’s a Rhino Rack Compact Batwing awning (2m).

Been wanting to add one for quite some time. Saw one for sale here on ExPo that was local and took the plunge. A good bit of modification to the Rhino Rack generic tubular mounts was necessary to get it to fit, but it feels solid. Looking forward to taking it on the trail.

Map and compass wherever and whenever possible. Aside from not having to worry about batteries or other electrical failures, seeing the entire range depicted by a 1:25,000 or 1:50,000 map gives you a much better sense for the terrain than the little screen on a hand-held GPS and even against...

Fjällräven sells a line of outdoor clothing (geared towards hunting and winter sport) that looks pretty bullet-proof, but it carries a similarly impressive price-tag. I'm seriously contemplating buying one (in the "cry once" vein) but thought I'd check here to see if anyone had any first hand...
