    A couple old Nissans

I agree! After the suspension refresh we did, it rides *nearly* as nice as a modern vehicle. As far as the body lines go, I know some people hate the "bump" roof... Maybe an acquired taste but I've got a soft spot for this generally unloved era of Nissans and they've grown on me quiet a bit.

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

I remember your 1st gen! My rationale for putting off a locker for so long was similar to yours (basically , didn't "need it" - but as I've gotten comfortable wheeling harder trails, traction has become a limiting factor on some of the rocky trails in Colorado. Plus, with a kid on the way...

    A couple old Nissans

They were not on mt radar until 2016 when I was looking for a work truck. Wanted a Tacoma, but found this Blue truck for about half the cost of comparable Tacomas. Never looked back. They're not perfect vehicles but I'd probably still buy a 1st or 2nd gen Frontier over a comparable Tacoma...

    2012 D40 Frontier Tourer build

Cool! I have some Australian front suspension parts too, and they do help. I have heard good things about superpro, so I hope these keep working out well for you! Looks like you're in Colorado (Elizabeth maybe?). Lemme know if you ever wanna hit some trails! I'm always looking for more...

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

TRE Rear Locker (Harrop Knockoff) PREFACE #1 - I should have done a locker a while ago, but I'm still learning and maturing in choosing my modifications. PREFACE #2 - I feel kinda bad about using a ripped-off design Chinese locker, but Harrops and TJMs are hard to get in the US and I didn't...

Day Trip - with an actual Nissan Friend! (I'm tired of Toyota People 🙂). Took a day trip out wheeling with a young guy I've known for quite a while. This is his first car and was the Xterra's first "real" 4-wheeling outing. (BACKSTORY on the Xterra) - When this guy was looking to buy his own...

Moab Trip, 2025 Moab Trip 2024, Moab Trip 2022, Moab Trip 2021, "Moab" Trip 2020 ^ Previous trip links. Each year, we try to do about 50% new activities/routes & 50% repeat stuff we know we like. If you look back at the other trips we've done, you'd see a lot of familiar places. I'm going to...

    Nissan Photos - post your's

Couple recent photos of the blue truck. I did a coilover conversion (no more torsion bars on the front). Did our yearly Moab trip. The coilovers did great.

I'll go follow the new build as well; love the photos of you little kiddo looking up at the new rig!

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

FULL SKIDS (SKID ROW) I got my used Skid Row skid plates installed this week. They came off of "The Grey Truck" (another 1st Gen Frontier) that I bought in the Fall. *I should have washed all the dirt and gravel off before starting... a lesson I seem to never learn. This front engine plate...

Sad to see all the matching go away, but I hope you're enjoying the V8 Pathfinder! There's one of those with a for-sale sign in the parking lot of my office right now... Pretty cool rigs! My wife and I have a V8 4Runner, and having that extra torque in a mid-size SUV is pretty fun.

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

PSR Coilover Conversion I ordered a D22 Coilover Conversion from Australia. I ordered from DrivenOffroad and the parts showed up in like 6 days. Pretty good service from Aiden at DrivenOffroad. The kit was great. Came with like 15 pages of instructions and every little thing that was required...

    New to me Xterra...

Looks nice. FYI, for future endeavors (maybe you already know all this), some 285/70/17s come in a standard load, unlike the 16s, which avoids some of the weight gain of an LT/E1 load rating. I realize you have 16" wheels on the Xterra, but something to consider if you ever are shopping for...

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

Full Exhaust - Magnaflow, Gibson, (Doug Thorley eventually...) I found a full exhaust for 1st gens on Facebook marketplace very close to me - I couldn't help it. I think I paid $700 for everything, which is a good deal, considering that the Doug Thorley headers alone are $775 before tax and...

2000 Frontier (Supercharged) Build and Adventures - Babe the Blue Ox

Labor Day Weekend Camping Trip Not a lot to report on the "build" part of this thread except that I took the Coastal Offroad bumper off and ground down all the welds... I had never done it and now it looks a bit nicer. Threw a new layer of paint on it at the same time too. It's still not pretty...
