I purchased the 4" deck plate off amazon, it did not come with screws or the tool to snug it shut.

I used small bolts and nuts. There is not enough material for screws. But I'll bet rivets would work just fine. And I added silicone sealant before mounting my shore power plug. The smaller heater plugs have a nice silicone gasket that came with them.
The red and black wire exiting from my controller has a thermistor attached to it. The controller has the thermostat in it along with a barometric meter for elevation control.
Played around with my heater today. I cut both the power and control cables. Added twist connect fittings. Drilled and mounted the surface mounts. Ran new wires, and gave it a test.
