WTB Camping/Lite Offroad M/T Truck in PDX Area

Howdy everyone, it's been a while! After having to part with my '94 Montero LS and a handful of years with a Corolla, I'm looking to get back into light trail driving with an offroad truck. Main consideration at this point is going to be location (Portland, Oregon area) and price (thinking...

    Gen 2 A/T Fluid Advice

Fluid drain and fill went well. I'll have to see how summer goes, since it seems to have more problems shifting into OD when it's hot out. The shifter kit looks interesting... Any thoughts on going that route?

PDX Gen 2 Body lift questions

Got the body lift installed yesterday. Took 12 hours, but overall not too bad. Heard a bad grinding/buzzing sound when I was driving back. Thought it could be a vac line that blew and want engaging the auto hubs, but turn out it was just fan shroud interference. Moved it down an inch, and no...

PDX Gen 2 Body lift questions

Did you get to your lift install last weekend? Also, had my new starter installed. Took the shop a good two hours, so, being a newbie, I'm glad I went that route.

Nice looking build! Do you have part numbers/info for the grill guard and JAOS parts? Cheers!

PDX Gen 2 Body lift questions

Nope not yet. It got delivered last week, but need to use the truck for a move this weekend, then I'll have access to a floor jack and stands at a friend's place the following weekend. In other news, had to whack my starter to get it going today, so guess I'll need to swap that out soon.

SONICMASD's 98 Montero LS Build & Adventure Thread: Black Betty

Ditto on attempting to find a good solution for the GPS setup. My suction cup mount doesn't seem to hold up even with my phone, let alone the tablet. Would a ram mount coming off the compass cluster be a decent route? Not sure how much force the bolts could put to that plastic...

    '94 LS Wheel/Tire Questions

Ahha! Ok looking through my Chiltons I found something about shims and thought there might be more to it. Thanks again for the reply! You figure a Mits dealership would be able to handle that type of alignment? I'm an fng enough that even the body lift prospect is skeeving me out...so might...

    '94 LS Wheel/Tire Questions

Another question: When cranking the torsion bars, the guy working on the alignment said any more cranking would put the tires out of camber. Is there some type of camber adjustment specific to these rigs where I could run more t-bar lift? It doesn't seem that I'm at the full 2" that I should be...

Yep! So electing to go with less articulation while I wait for the body lift to come in.

    '94 LS Wheel/Tire Questions

I think my door plate says March of 94, but that could be the last thing they put on these trucks... Any tips on what I can do to limit the suspension in the meantime before I install the body lift? Something like extended bump stops?
