Why not get a 4wd/awd and then save up for a lift kit? You'd be able to get out at attack a ton of stuff right away (I can't tell you how many Honda Civics I've seen at trail heads!) and then have the option to add clearance at a later date. Just don't get something meant for strait-up city...
