Please disregard the cluster-f of air lines that i'm re-routing :)
Also, the upper shock bolt is on temporarily with double mis-alignment spacers until the new bolts come.
Feel silly, they are actually radflo shocks. Misheard that as rancho on the phone. Haven't installed them yet, the top bearing sleeve wasn't the right size for the tapered thick ole bolt on the rear of the ram. They are radflo 2.5 remote reservoir shocks
Buckstop has partnered with Rancho to make custom shocks w/ remote reservoirs valved for the 5500 in brush truck applications - I've got a set and will let you know how they turn out
What PSI do you usually end up running? Are you targeting 7.5" bag height per kelderman instructions? I've been tweaking, but cant find a setting that feels good offroad.
Right now i've got the ranchos in the middle setting (5 clicks i think) and front bags around 90 PSI , 85 PSI in the rear...
Been re reading this thread, couldn't find it. Beyond the kelderman setup , what did you do for shocks? I'm not liking the ride quality with bags only in the rear, and bags plus ranchos in the front :/
2003 2500 - I really should start another thread about it, don't want to hijack this one further.
But yeah - lots of mods
12v AC split system (ducted)
11 KW lithium bank
Victron inverter
12v compressor fridge
1.6 KW solar on two charge controllers
froli springs below mattress
bunch of cell...
Where in UT are you?
Exactly - I hit that '******* it' moment, let's finish up and hit the road this week. I've been obsessing over solar configurations, batteries, wiring, you name it.
re: modifying buckstop kit - yes - made a bracket thing to accept the airbags, I'll get some more photos up...
I'm doing a very similar thing but not as gorgeous, just hacking apart a bigfoot. You and @RAM5500 CAMPERTHING have been big inspirations for my build. Just wanted to say thanks for detailing everything, particularly the Kelderman setup / bracket.
Do you think an extended front bag is...
Thanks for the tip! I'll get some of those, look good. I was thinking it might be worth switching to compression fittings, but will take your expertise on it - i'm new to air suspensions.
The diagram may look complicated, but it's really set up so that if the air solenoids for dump / fill stop...
Question for ya - @RAM5500 CAMPERTHING - what kind of air lines / fittings do you like?
This is how i'm wiring up my air system (attached diagram). I'm using push to connect fittings (for now) - but would like to use whatever is most durable.
Truck is coming along together pretty well (PS I...
@HowardH - I deeply feel your pain in losing Tyler - this year my fiance passed away at 28 years old in a kayaking accident.
Your son sounds like a really special person, I hope this rig goes to someone who can enjoy it.
One thing is you can run smaller cables if there's less current running through them. These 4/0's are frickin' huge.
BTW - if you guys are interested I'm going forward with adding a second alternator (280 amp) connected to a balmar alternator regulator. The alternator is supposed to push 200A...
But also...

Anyways - sorry for hijacking this thread :)
This is exactly what i was thinking of doing, during cruise, or parked w/ high idle - flip on the 2nd one. I think I'm just going to keep it (relatively) simple and go with this option. 1 60A wired in w/ standard battery isolator logic, and a second one for cruise / high idle
