I already bought the custom wheels and tires in 14R20 size. Zero plans to change the wheelbase on this truck, not sure why that's suggested. The sketch even shows that it's about ideal with a 5.2m box installed.

I think it fits a 5.2m box pretty well. Also, the winch is packaged in there tightly, so I don't want to touch rear axle.

For parts and service work?

The overhang doesn't seem bad with the 5.2m box. Tires are Continental HCS, good for 5000kg.

I guess I should start a build thread. I tried to buy this Actros from a truck broker who had it on the market in the fall of 2023. I was not able to get anywhere with the seller at the time. I spent most of the 2024 looking for trucks in Europe, including 6 weeks driving all over the place...

Most of the trucks with splitters had a .85 top gear. From what i've seen the standard transmissions are 1:1. Isn't there an ID plate on the gearbox? I've seen that a few times.

Somebody Man Up and buy this 😆. Can arrange lower price for EU delivery if I don't have to import it to USA. Possible to make last minute changes to box as well if soon.

I just bought this week, and it's going to Box Manufaktur next week for a box and subframe. It will be a while to finish project. Be very careful buying one. Many are complete rust buckets that have been painted over a couple times by now. I drove and looked a some that didn't appear safe...

Where are all the MAN truck based expedition people? I just bought a MAN 12.232 and i'm having Box Manufaktur install a box on it.

I think these show all specs and parts. Which doesn't tell me what axle ratios that a certain truck was built with. This site shows an automatic for a truck that is a manual. The experts are able to get this data somehow. I think they have EPC access. VIN code : WDB9520731K329382 AL3...

I've been doing that and it's a bit of a drag. Looking at a lot of SK/AK trucks the last six months. Do those EPC CDs on ebay provide anything?

Does anyone know how to get access to accurate build details and parts from a VIN. I think there was an EPC page, but i'm not sure it's it's open still. I've been looking at truck and it's really hard to figure out the gears and specs from listings. Thanks

Hi.. Any updates on this? I just started looking at LX570s and they just don't have enough headroom at all. How does something so big end up so small inside? Did you gain a lot of headroom by doing the planted/scheel-mann swap? I've got a set of Vario XL Seats sitting in my garage.
