    Cellular device for international travel

I see a couple of posts recommending Google Fi. I have had this service for many years and I love it, and I travel a lot and it works great when outside the United States. But, please be aware that even if you purchase the "Unlimited Plus" plan, which gives you free data roaming in 200+...

Garmin Tread Overland Edition - any users yet?

Erik, I currently have the Garmin Overlander, but I got to borrow a Tread XL for 10 days while touring In the backcountry with group of others. And I loved the Tread XL unit. But not enough to swap it for my Garmin Overlander. My thoughts, * screen is bright and large and the maps render very...

Free to Good Home - Seattle/Edmonds

Edit. Rack is GONE. But water filter/pump still available. I have half a Front Runner slimline rack with table mounts/slides, to mount the Front Runner table. The rack measures 55 inches wide by 44 inches long, and is in reasonable shape. It was twice as long, but I cut it in half (long story)...

    lifting beds?

Just a comment on lifting beds, and mainly because I have an FX Erthcruiser. Before owning an Earthcruiser I thought a lifting bed, over a dinette would be perfect, a way to have a bed but keep the space it takes up for other purposes while not sleeping. After five years of ownership, well, I...

    Garmin Overlander

I have side-loaded Avenza app and works ok-ish. The map store only presents free maps and you can’t upgrade from the free version to the plus or pro version (in the app). i assume this is because all of the Google Play services are not available On the device. Otherwise seems to function normally.

Snow Chains on Fuso FG 4x4

Thanks for the comments. I agree, I did not read the manual correctly, they must have meant either put chain on front or the rear but not both at the same time. I ended up buying the real deal snow chains and will put them on the back, when the day comes. I am headed to Yosemite in mid December...

Snow Chains on Fuso FG 4x4

The Fuso manual for the FG 4x4 states that "When driving in snow or on frozen roads, use tire chains (except FG model vehicles), ..." and later in the 4WD section "Select the 4WD mode if necessary for the snow or road surface conditions. Start out slowly. Tire chains cannot be used on both front...

    Webasto Dual Top Reviews wanted

We have a dual top, and love it. If you plan to run you van/truck off diesel, I think this is a good choice. We have had a few issues, a leak in the inspection hatch, fixed under warranty and the inlet water and outlet pipes touched the internal fan making a horrible noise until we fixed that...

2010 FUSO Canter 4x4 What spare parts do you carry on your over land trips including heading to other countries?

Hi, I am interested in the Diagnostic computer reader / code reset you mentioned. Is this a standard OBDII reader, or do you carry something made for Fuso?

Are the newer FGs a viable option?

Just wanted to chime in and say how great my truck is. Ok, only six months old but no regrets going for brand new vs pre duonic transmission. My wife and I are in the fortunate position that we have enough time on our hands that should something go wrong, which it hasn't yet, we can wait for it...
