Both are great off roaders in their own right. For your typically "overlanding" they're both capable. When you start getting into somewhere where you want a lot more suspension travel, that's when the Jeep starts to edge ahead. Especially when it comes to off road...
The largest risk is whether or not it will do well sales wise - and then value. Will they drop like a rock? Go up?

Test drove them today in Dahlonega, GA
They are SUPER freaking smooth off road. The suspension travel is ridiculous but yet somehow they body stays upright/doesnt keep over like a Wrangler does. B58's torque is fantastic too. Visibility is excellent.
Do it - and join up on the Starion/Conquest facebook groups as they are VERY familiar with the engine - albeit they have the turbo version, for all intents and purposes a lot is the same.
Yeah, that's from last summer. Speaking with them in person they stated they wanted it less than a Landcruiser since globally the 70 series is their target market. Figure the commercial one ( 2 seater ) is being priced at $49k EU.
We will see in the end.
