There's a lot to unpack in this ad, but this may be the most unique(?) selling point ever for an off-road camper: "It was also designed to be very sex friendly, in many places in many ways ."
Another fairly recent project I completed was painting the fiberglass topper. The original gelcoat had faded quite a bit, so I thought some paint would help cosmetics and hopefully protect it. An older before picture, and just completed after picture below:
It's definitely a 10-20 footer...
One of the reasons I installed the transmission cooler was I finally figured out how to monitor my transmission temp, and I didn't like how hot it got in the mountains. I monitored the temps via the Torque Pro app, which is only $5. I used this OBD2 scanner / Bluetooth transmitter that plugs...
I like them a lot. Haven't done a ton of night time driving, but they're much better than the stock halogens (which were old and needed replacing). Comparison of old and new lights shown below. Bought them off Amazon here: LED headlights . Supposedly DOT approved, but not sure how much faith...
Been a long while since i posted, so thought I'd resurrect this thread. I've done a few small projects since the last update, including installation of this transmission cooler: Hayden 698 Transmission Cooler. I chose this cooler in part b/c it has an internal thermostat that bypasses the...
Very slick - I've been wrong before about these things, but I'd guess this won't last long. This seems like a great setup for two people who want to get off the beaten path and camp comfortably.
I didn't cut my seat bases down, and so I haven't moved my fuse box. I took a quick look at mine and it would be difficult to check fuses with the swivel an 1 3/4" lower.
I have the lever in the front. There is some rubbing between the seat back and wheel when I rotate the seat, but not what I would consider too severe. I adjust both the vertical angle of the seat back and the seat base slider when I rotate the seat. If memory serves, the seat back is fully...
I was going off of memory and couldn't remember if it was one bolt and two tabs, or vice versa. Mine is just like yours (and probably all Express/Savana vans).
I won't mention how I cracked the base of my (newly tinted) windshield trying to get the wiper arm off to remove the cowling and...
I knew that some states had draconian laws on window tint, and it seems like most are in the northeast where they're not subjected to blazing sun as much as we are in the south. I'll be sure to avoid any such states - but for what I paid to have all the windows tinted in my van, it would have...
Thanks for the feedback, and looks like you've made great use of your van. I've updated the link to the bases in the original post (also here: swivel bases). Per the drawings on the seller website, the swivels raise the seat 1.75 inches. Just took an 8 hour trip each way to Palo Duro Canyon...
I did not have that issue, but I also don't think my van has the sensor that is creating interference in your case. My van has a switch on the dashboard (that requires the key to turn) in order to activate or deactivate the passenger side airbag. I don't know if that's a difference in the 1500...
Another update, purely cosmetic. Decided to add some decals to the giant white canvas to make it look less utilitarian. Found these for cheap on Amazon (Mountain scene decal, $27 for 2 decals) and decided to take a chance despite the mediocre review ratings. One decal perfectly fit in the...
I haven't had much driving time with the swivels, but in the limited time I've had I'm happy with them. Mine is inline with the steering wheel when facing forward, and inset toward center when facing back. I'm happy with the quality and haven't noticed any rattles. If you have them facing...
Thanks for the feedback on the insert. My CAD (cardboard-aided-design) skills aren't that great, so it took me way longer to make those than it should have. It's possible my under seat box had some ignition only fuses, but I couldn't find one, and a quick internet search indicated that at...
