THIS time I wanted to try something different on the way home... After Val D'or we turned NORTH on 113 and went that way - hoping the highway would be passable. Turns out the route is shorter, faster, in better shape an has better scenery than the southern route. It pops out in the Saguenay region which is possibly the best in Eastern Canada. AWESOME! We caught the St-Siméon / Rivière-du-Loup ferry ($70 for the Jeep & 2 people) and Louise photographed some beluga whales on the hour-long crossing. SO worth it!

From KL to our place is almost exactly 2000 km, which works out for me to be 20 driving hours or so.

Let us know if you make it out here!

It's a Crappy Tire model - not very sturdy but they went one sale for 1/3 the normal price for a couple days last year (mistake maybe?) and I may have paid too much. HAHA Does have a built-in single burner stove (great for the stove-top coffee maker) and a water pump.

We take two days to drive either way. I *refuse* to drive through Montreal unless it's a destination so I have mapped out a route north and south of it. :) From KL we normally go over to Rouyn then keep going down through Mont Laurier & Mont Tremblant and head east toward Quebec City before we get to MOntreal. Cross over at Quebec City and take the new trans canada down through New Brunswick (Edmundston, Frederticton, MOncton, then over here). On the way to KL we stay the 1st night in Mont Laurier; on the way home we stay over at Edmundston, NB

too long - had to split - LOL

Hey! Our 'club' had a mini run and a BBQ yesterday as a way to get together and maybe try to attract some new Jeepers... I won the 'who can bring the most stuff' bragging rights. LOL I had 8 coolers (no ARB fridge though :( ), tent, screen house, TWO camp kitchens (one with a double sink), 6 lawn chairs, BBQ, 4 stoves, and who knows what else. Ran out of time packing before I ran out of space. haha

It won't let me add a pic but check this out
