Tires absolutely. I have gotten rid of multiple sets of KO2s... Toyos are much quieter.
This is one of my biggest questions... what do people mean when they say suspension is 'better off road'? I can see at least 3 very different things that different drivers might mean
1. Better ability to go...
thanks for the feedback so far. Not a single vote for using more of the budget for upgrades, that's interesting. The aluminum bodies are appealing because they come with an incre payload capacity due to the decreased curb weight. Out here in the northwest we really don't have any rust issues...
Hey everyone — I’m looking to make the jump from a Land Rover LR3 to a pickup, and I’m trying to figure out the smartest way to spend my budget.
Would I be better off buying an older generation truck (2005-2012) and putting some money into upgrades (suspension, etc.), or stretching for a newer...
thanks for the link. When I went there Amazon actually showed that I had ordered that a year ago, and I returned it. I've had a hell of a time with this. There are multiple versions of thread sizing and pitch out there and that one did not fit my camp chef Everest. That same stove is made by...
Where did you get that hose for the everest stove? I've been looking for something like that and have had the hardest *^&ing time due to the apparent mix of thread sizes out there. That is the camp chef everest stove, right?
awesome camper!!!

Definitely prefer local sale in Bend Oregon but I guess I could consider shipping at an additional cost. I suppose these things have to be shipped when bought new too!
I have a frontrunner drawer system for Land Rover lr3. The basic drawer system is probably the same as for other...
Thanks for the write up and pics. i have a 6x10 cargo trailer that i built last spring to tow with our LR3 and my family of 4 camp in it. It has worked really well except for the suspension. I was thinking about Timbren for the simplicity but they don't have much travel. It's interesting what...
Nice build. I have a 6x10 i've converted for my family of four. I put two standard roof vents in it and they give so much light, i'm really glad i did. you might consider that if you're adding ventilation.
Great list, thank you! A question though, do you know how much air pressure is required to achieve ride height with an LR3 heavily loaded for a trip? I've heard that it is probably much more than can be provided by the compressors that most of us carry for airing up our tires. Something...
The Garmin overlander does look pretty compelling. Frankly though, that and a camera or two are just way more money ($1,040) than i can budget for this project.
I think with a decent used tablet and some rando backup cameras, there's a pretty good chance i could put something together for $200...
