If your looking for a deal watch the amazon warehouse/used deals. I got a CFX 50 for under under $550. Mine the box was roughed up but the fridge was perfectly fine. This takes some patience and alittle luck as they go quick.
I'll be honest I read the title and thought "oh this should be interesting", fully expecting some half baked mashup of plywood and a ground tent. All I can say is wow these look incredible the attention to detail is amazing. It appears that both form and function have been maximized, I tip my...
I understand that they are continuously linked but what I read indicated that the GZ had a smart controller in it that would not draw anything if the voltage of the source was below a certain threshold such as when the alternator was not running. At this point I am not sure if that is true and...
Only the goal zero the way I have it now. I believe the Goal zero will not draw from the Jeep battery due to the voltage being lower without the alternator running, at least that is what I read. I am not sure how to test this to make sure. The outlet I wired using the ARB kit, described above...
When I tested it in my Jeep in moderate day temperature, high of mid 70s I got approximately 30 hours out of it. That was only on the stock single battery I have not yet chained a second one, but logic would hold doing so would double that time. Obviously In much higher temperatures this time...
Hey all, quick little tip that some of you may find useful.
Not to long ago I purchased a Dometic CFX 50. I love it and couldn't be happier. The next step was how to power it. A full blowndual battery set up is somewhere in my future but at this point the cost is to much. So I settled on a...
First thing that comes to mind are cheap extreme bright led flashlights from amazon. I have several that were in the $15-$20 range. Can never have to many flash lights. Also pocket knives and multi-tools
Which battery protection setting are you on? I think the default is the medium which I believe is designed for a starter battery. Something is definitely up I have gotten almost 30 hours in really good conditions with a goal zero yeti 400 which is only 35ah. When I did that it was set on the...
Can’t contribute to the energy use but I just noticed on amazom there is a cost way branded fridge that appears to be of the same exterior design as an edgestar. The completely rectangular shape that at least appears to be metal as opposed to the one being discussed.
Just thought I’d throw it...
I did not find a definite answer if the yeti draws power when you get the low voltage massage. I don’t think it is but to be safe if the fridge is off I unplug the yeti. My testing in a hot garage the yeti powered my CFX for about 30 hours. I picked up a 50w solar panel to extend my time some. I...
You could use the 12v battery to charge the yeti but I think with the lithium version you have you would need to use an inverted to charge it by 120v.
I do this with the non-lithium version and it works fine. But with the inverter you would lose some efficiency.
I hope this isn't to far off topic but there is an active thread over on Overland Bound about the costway fridges. I believe someone already has one and said the smittybilt cover fit perfectly. Another poster has one on order, so some real life opinions may be available soon.
Went and tried it and that worked. The Yeti was reading 60ish watts of input with the engine running. I must have only tried turning the key to the position between on and off. My next question would be is the Yeti drawing anything from the battery if it is reading low voltage? I would love to...
