Thanks for your post. I am leading a group up to TUK in March of 2017. We'll be among the last to cross the great Ice Road. About 7,000 miles total from Vegas to TUK and back!
I built my own as well. 5x8 with a small galley/storage area. Has a queen sized memory foam mattress and keeps me warm in the winter.

Thanks Kevin! I bought them from eBay. They are chinese LED flush mount lights. They have a little snap on cover. I think they were like $10 a piece.

That is exactly what I did. I skipped on a "galley". I carry 4 large sealed plastic totes back there for cookware, food, and misc "stuff". Here it is opened on a beach in Baja a few days ago!
Mostly driving but we plan on doing most of the activities in Inuvik. (dog sledding, hiking, etc) The trip plan more or less is to make a hard drive to Inuvik and take in the Arctic.

It's a bucket list item for me to get to the Arctic Ocean. 2017 will be the end of the ice road as we know it due to the opening of the new Inuvik-Tuk highway. That is why we're doing it!
