1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80
$29,000
248,114 miles (being daily driven approx. 10 miles/day during weekdays)
Dallas, Texas
Here is your opportunity to own a fastidiously maintained/stock 80 series without shelling out for a full resto-mod. Walking up to this shiny Cruiser after a long day of work and jumping into its pristine interior feels like stepping back in time to 1997. Paint correction, engine overhaul, full stock height suspension restoration, like new interior. Always garaged, hand washed and never offroaded. Texas owned since at least 2012. If you are looking for a Cruiser that you can comfortably drive daily or that is safe for your teenager to drive, this is it. All of the boring, expensive maintenance updates have been completed so vehicle is ready for fun. Prior owner invested over $20K in restoration in 2015, (have comprehensive records) including:
reupholstering front seats, repainting exterior, substantial engine/mechanical overhaul with Cruiser Shop, Dallas. Daily driven by me since 2018 with over $22K invested in restoration (have records) with Tandem Offroad in Haltom City, Texas. If something needed fixing no expense spared with all OEM parts (excluding Dobinson suspension restoration). I have records of all restoration work back to 2012 and can put you in touch with the owner of Tandem Offroad who did work for second opinion on vehicle’s condition. Does not have factory front and rear lockers.

History:
I purchased the car in 2018 from my parents’ next-door neighbor, Tina, who was in her 70s. She used the car to drive to the grocery store. She said she loved how the car made her feel like she was driving a tank. There are records I have not included in my file showing that she maintained the car with regular oil changes, etc. Tina sold the car to me because they were moving out of state.
Tina purchased the car from her friend, Michael Hayes, who was a Raytheon engineer. Michael purchased the car from Toyota of Rockwall and spent a substantial amount of money improving the car, which the records show. Michael appears to have been an owner with the similar mindset to mine, which is, if there is something wrong with the car, then fix it right. Michael used a shop called The Cruiser Shop in DFW. Michael sold the car to Tina because he was moving out of abroad or out of state.
I am selling to purchase a a 200 series Land Cruiser to better accommodate my growing family.
Improvements during my ownership:
I have invested over $22,000 in the car, including the following (above and beyond regular oil changes, tire rotations/alignment, etc.):
5/31/2019 ($3,623)
$29,000
