Gull Wing / Flip-Up Windows +/- Molle?

For those running gull-wings / flip-up windows, what kind of setup do you find most convenient, and have you tried more than one setup before settling on this? Pics welcome!

Open window, no panel.
Flat panel, blocks access to interior through side window.
Closed shelf panel, where you can access stuff only from the outside.
Open-sides shelf panel, where can also reach the window-side of the panel from the inside.
Half-panel, that covers half the window so you can reach in beside or under it.

Also—what are you typically accessing through the window?

Hello, I'm not the average gull wing user as I own a pickup with a canopy on top of it, but the principles to this will be the same. I have a rear hatch and tailgate, two swingouts on the rear bumper and two large flip up side hatches. If I had a wagon I'd look for the same setup. Although I'd surely go for glass windows instead of metal hatches in a wagon.

To me, its all about access. So flat panel hatch without any molle (although inside molle webbing could be interesting), and completely open to the interior of the vehicle. Why? Because if I had to access the vehicle from the tailgate I'd have to open two swingouts and two doors (upper hatch and tailgate). While if I want to access it from the side flip-up hatchess I only need to open one door. Quicker, easier and I can get into the whole cargo area from the sides, although some larger or heavier items may be trickier to get in or out.

I have friends with shelves, both open and closed, from gull wings on different vehicles and have analyzed the closed drawer idea and can only find it inconvenient to have a flip up window to access an enclosed electrical system or anything that could only be accessed via that specific opening, I find it reduces access even more.

What do I typically access? Anything really. Bags, stuff inside the fridge (which is accessible from the left window or the rear), equipment charging on the inverter (which is also accessible from the left window or the rear) baby supplies, you name it..
