Recommendation on good foldable solar panel.

Hey guys.

hoping someone has a good recommendation for a 200watt portable solar panel. I’ll plugging into a redarc 50amp dc/dc with solar input.

I only use this when I need some extra power as I have 460watt on my roof.

I have only tried bluetti panels before, but after having 3 of them stop working after light use, I’m looking for something longer lasting and generally more reliable.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dokio 200W folding glass/aluminum, ~$150 on amazon.

If it's on a separate MPPT I'd recommend wiring it for 24V (actually ~32V) by putting them in series. You can have a long run of not ridiculously fat wires then, which is nice if there are trees, or you just want to park in the shade.

I use 2 of these in series. Maximum flexibility. Can run 1 or both together, depending on circumstances. They also make a 200W panel but I prefer 2 smaller panels for ease of handling and smaller footprint, less susceptible to getting blown over when not laying flat on the ground.

Thanks for all the input. Going to do a little more research, and hopefully purchase next week.

We’ve run our EcoFlow panels for roughly 60 days over the last 18 months and have had zero issues. They fold, fairly light weight, come with a carrying case and are bifacial. Has no problem reaching its output capabilities

We have recently purchased the EcoFlow Delta Max with two 160 watt panels. To date, we haven’t yet used the panels, but the physical description above is the same as ours.

Also have an older Zamp 80 watt panel that we use with our travel trailer to get a little extra boost when the 400 watt panels on top are shaded. It works fine.

We had some 200W Ecoflow panels and they were quite efficient but hard to keep clean and the legs and straps were all held together with snaps, half of which broke in the first month of using. Ended up getting a Renogy 400W panel instead. Haven’t used it more than a couple days yet but seems to run pretty well and it’s definitely more rugged than the BLUETTI we had. Four separate panels essentially that fold together and attach via magnets.

Make your own.
The difference between top quality fixed panels and folding panels is a couple of hinges.
In either case, the regulator needs to be close to the batteries.

Renogy has the highest marks for efficiency. They have a new folding 400W that is one of the lightest weight of the foldable class.
It's definitely not the lightest, but has sturdy frame and stand. It appears that it's employing a pretty standard "flexible" plastic film construction, which has never had good longevity in the past. Maybe good for temporary use, but I'd trust glass/aluminum panels to last.
