Onx questions

When using onx offline maps i am assuming that you must load each device separately? Is there away to log in with service and then transfer the map files from one device to another?

How much more detail is included when you go from a mid size map to a large size map with onx?

I am at a cell booster to the jeep for this up coming trip across the sierras and into the Inyos it will be interesting to see how the devices perform using cell data As a cautionary note i am loading off line maps to my iPhone 15 and my ipad

Correct, each device separately. I do not think you can "transfer" the maps like you say but if you have service, you can just download the new one you need for the next portion of your trip. Depending on the storage space on your phone, you can download quite a few different sections.

What I do is download the largest area I can and then have less detail when I zoom in on the map when it is downloaded. In the past I have downloaded each days map and titled it with a little bit of overlay on each day. I've never had an issue with doing it that way. If you don't think you'll have service that often, I would delete 90% of the apps etc on your Ipad and download it all directly to it. That way you don't have to worry.

Ok well shoot🤨 I was doing a test run today with my iPad, which is not cellular however it does have a separate Garmin GPS antenna that is connected with Bluetooth to it side-by-side with my iPhone 15, which has all the same maps that are on the iPad I got everything all set up drove around the block and onx wouldn’t show up on either one. It was completely blurry. I thought OK maybe it’s because I don’t have this particular map downloaded as an off-line map. I was running the iPad and airplane mode because that’s what Onx says.
So for all you, Onx gurus out there do you have any ideas? What would cause this cause it should’ve been two separate systems each standalone for comparison purposes and yet neither would register and the only other facts I can think of that may have any relevance on this as I did install a wee boost on the Jeep and it does boost the signal. I had like three or four bars, the whole mile that I drove, but I can’t see how that would affect this
And to top it off, I switched over to Gaia and of course it shows up just fine on the iPad on the iPhone and in the dash of my jeep through CarPlay so I am totally thoroughly stumped. Any ideas anybody
