Super Single Conversion - Anyone actually change a flat offroad?

I am contemplating my next truck / camper build…have considered going to a 4500/5500 with super singles, but the thought of trying to change a 200+ lb wheel / tire offroad is putting me off….anyone on here actually change one of these? the idea is making me rethink whether I want to wrestle with anything larger than a 3500 srw with a 37” tire!

thanks,

Kind of what I thought, but still require a lot of manhandling even with the cable lift to the back of the truck. Confident I could get it done now, not sure in ten years!

If you are concerned about getting it positioned in regards to the lug studs, a standard full size shovel under the tire makes it easy-breezy. Tons of leverage up/down and wiggle side to side. No problem with the 46" XZL (300+ lbs) on my 1017AF

If you have a pivot point type spare mount (below is planned for my Power Wagon with 40s), then smooth all the way, up and down.

There are robust platforms for expedition vehicles that are NOT f550 ram 5500 and that can run wheel / tires with less weight than SS 41" military tires.

If you keep your rear axle weight ~ 8,000 lbs you can run LT tires. Lots of goodness to that approach IMO. The stock weight is surely < 3,000 lbs, so 5,000 could be added on the rear. If you keep your CG well forward of the axle then maybe 7-8k lbs total load?
