movable habitation boxes

Hello all,

First post.

I am new to this but I am looking for a habitation box that I can use here in North America for a few years on a two wheel drive Isuzu NPR/FTR and then remove the box, ship it to some other continent and mount on to a similar truck (maybe a 4x4).

Can this be done somewhat easily?

I tried to search, but maybe my search skills are not up to par..

Thanks.

Where in NA are you located?

Probably easier/cheaper to simply ship your truck.

This is what we did.

Vehicle shipment is the least expensive part of taking a US camper overseas.

Insurance/storage/Schengen visa
limitations can be much more expensive.

These folks may have what you want: https://www.blissmobil.com/en-us/

YMMV
Very nice.. but the blissmobil looks like something along the lines of what I am looking for.

The main thing to consider is that you will need a custom box subframe on that type of truck. If you can design it to be somewhat universal so that it matches up to the frame rails on the next truck you may be able to transfer it over.

Greetings from NoVa.

Some thoughts:

-- While the Bliss modules are designed to be shipped as marine containers, I would ask them how people get these containers to their trucks and mount them, etc. I am sure that there is a way, I just don't know what it is.

-- You may not need any special subframe for a Bliss container. Ask them.

Saw this beast in Morocco. (Not sure if it is Bliss or some other brand.) Note the container mounts and
reinforcement. It was new and the owner has never dismounted it.

The idea of having a habitat mounted on twist locks is not new. In my career I have met with owners that dismounted the box from the truck so they can be shipped in separate sea containers. Not impossible.... BUT a major pain in the butt! For example: think about the facility and equipment needed to get the components out of the container and mounted to the chassis again. Forget the idea of mounted them back together at the port... virtually all ports around the globe are restricted areas with limited access.
Here is a great example: md52h-mb-unimog-6x6-gallery
