Not often do things like this happen that feel like a miracle. Today someone not on the forum contacted me from Georgia about buying my Jerry Cans. I had 14. I had sold 4 to 2 kind members on here and 1 to the couple who asked me to transport a machine from Texas to Colorado for them. I had 9 left.
This man contacted me today and said he is restoring an old military vehicle and he needs 3 of these or all of what I had. I gave him an offer for all 9 that I had left. He said he would take them. I was happy but worried about shipping.
We concluded that I would ship in 3 separate boxes, since each box takes 3 Jerry Cans perfectly well. He said ok.
He told me to please ship by UPS only. And that I should get a quote and let him know before he will commit. I went to UPS and the quote was $100 a box. $300 total. He said he cannot do it because that is too expensive. I said I agree.
I told him I could go to FedEx because I always ship through FedEx. He said, sure. Get the quote and let me now. Then he goes further to say he has a FedEX business account and I could ship it under his name. I said cool.
This guy is a medical doctor in Georgia. So he was at work and told me he may not be able to quickly respond when I reach out to him, but he will try to stay in contact as I am going to FedEx.
I got to FedEx and got a quote based on me shipping it. The quote was $65 a box or say $195 to ship all 3 boxes. I let the doctor know and said I am at FedEx. He sent me his business account number to use for the quote.
I gave them the account number and they charged everything under his account. Cost to ship 1 of the boxes was $36.54. For a total of $109.62 to ship all 3 boxes. He said that sounds fine with him. He will take all 9 Jerry Cans. I got a big smile on my face.
So all 3 boxes were shipped. I was not paid yet. He suddenly got busy at work, but told me that he will be sending me the money as soon as he was free. After 30 minutes, he sent me the money and I confirmed receipt of the money. He said he was very happy with the smooth transaction and I was extremely happy too with the sale. I thanked him very much.
