Wow! A 110 liter !! I bot one and then returned it and got an 80 liter and a 25 liter :) Anything that runs on 12 v should work. Unless u use something other than 12v... I'm guessing its a wall mount or something?

Torque is the key on the Diesel engines. Any off road enthusiast must appreciate that..... I think taller gears will help the mileage issue on road... But u right....Americans just aren't feeling diesel :( Personally I love the sound n smell :P
