    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

It's true that Viking Vince has added a rack. SafariPacific has mounted Maxtrax on top of his as well. The problem is, and both will tell you, their tops are now difficult to open due to the additional weight. The stresses of additional weight are multiplied along the length of the lid, basis...

How much does your vehicle weigh?

There have been some very interesting posts here. Since part of the discussion has revolved around tire ratings, I would like to add that part of my build up was to switch from 15" rims and C rated 33's to 16" rims and E rated 285/75R16 to improve load handling. It is very important to note so...

How much does your vehicle weigh?

The factory original curb weight was 3675 lbs. The rear Dana 35 was swapped out for a Dana 44 many years ago. I am still running the original Dana 30 high pinion on the front. 354, 037 miles today.

How much does your vehicle weigh?

I looked through the forum but could not find a thread on how much people's overland vehicles weigh equipped vs the gross vehicle weight. I thought it would be interesting for people doing research to see just how heavy/light an overland vehicle can be depending upon the application and duration...

once again, rumors of new Jeep pickup

I would love to get my hands on a new Jeep pick-up if they were to put one into production. Cool solutions for habitat systems are but a heartbeat away here at AT. :coffeedrink:

    AT Comanche upgrades

Certainly a different set of circumstances than the OBD-I from my '92. With your newer ECU you may not have any issues at all. I'll be interested to learn of your performance results and if you find that you need to tweak any signals signals from the O2 , MAF or crank sensors to control pinging.

    AT Comanche upgrades

Yes, AT will be offering the tank. 1.6 gallons at 185 degrees blended with fresh water tank water at 60 degrees will yield about 3.5 gallons of of water @ 102. with an intermittent nozzle, this is quite ample for 2 showers. It only takes about 10 mins of idling to bring the tank back up to temp...

    AT Comanche upgrades

No regrets. You'll love your stroker. My recommendations would be to use 26 lb injectors, an 40 mm over bore throttle body and a Split Second FTC-019BV fuel timing calibrator. Don't mess around with an adjustable fuel regulator. The SS unit will give you infinite fine control of fuel and timing...

    AT Comanche upgrades

I did the same many moons ago, swapped in a TJ bell housing. Works like a champ. One would hope! Yes, a hybrd is in the works. I started with foam, didn't like the space utilization. Switched to the factory insert, good utilization but not rigid enough for vertical usage. Stay tuned.

1620 would be correct. I have never thought of it that way. Thanks for that. The original AX-15 transmission syncros are just starting to get finicky at 352K so she's going in today for a check up.

Actually the "washer" is standard issue ARB. The first time I used one of the points by itself, it got tweaked. I now always use both shackles with a lanyard to spread the load.

The other significant modifications are: - The addition of hood vents. I know a lot of discussion has touched on this subject. My experience is that my engine temperature dropped about 5 degrees. The stroker is a little over a year old now and I have put about 25 K on it. With the vents first...

    AT Comanche upgrades

I haven't posted up in a while about ongoing mods to the MJ so I thought is was about time. The project still has a ways to go but it is getting closer to becoming the small platform self contained vehicle I envisioned. Latest mods have been: - Removed old accessory wiring birds nest and...

I pre-ran the GCOO trip this weekend. This is a scenic route that we will pick up just north of Williams. I saw no less than 20 elk and 2 antelope, the grasses were green and a burst of flowers were out on the Coconino Plateau. This is going to be fun!
