    '99 Tahoe - Expedition Build!

"- what was this guy thinking!?!?" Clearly, he was NOT. He should be told to get outta the gene pool IMHO. The utterly mindless behavior of people never ceases to amaze. Great pics by the way, jealous of your trip. White Rim is on my To Do list.

Ford F554, the replacement for the H1 is here.

I would love to see a chassis like that stuffed under an Excursion.... :Wow1: Really nifty rig you guys have designed...now, time to win the lottery!

Ford F554, the replacement for the H1 is here.

Hi Liventre, forgive me for asking since it is not 100% clear from the first post, but did you just buy one of these or are you shopping them? Regardless, I think it is a pretty cool looking rig and I am a die-hard bowtie guy. Thanks for sharing and I sent the information along to a family...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

First, in regards to rock sliders, I just remembered a member over at the Z71T-S forum had them put on his NBS Tahoe. Click here for the link. Second, for my lift I replaced the front torsion keys with keys for a F150 since their notches are set slightly different vs the GM ones, and allow for...

    1999 GMC Yukon Build

That is a nice looking rig you have there. I endorse your selection of replacement wheels 100%. No hurries in doing all your mods, make sure you still take time to go out and enjoy the rig when you can. I LOVE the pic of the Dalton Highway, that is definitely a place on my To Visit list...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks so much, I have considered some rock sliders but, so far, have not truly needed them on the trails I have traveled. Removing my running boards was one of the best easy mods I ever did, due to the added clearance. So, I dont need a step but to have protection for the rocker panels and...

spare tire bumper swing away for FS trucks

Mine is made by Kennesaw Mountain, cheap price (compared to others that is), but definitely needed some finish work to finish it off. Mine has a removable jerry can holder that I only use when I am away on a trip.

    '99 Tahoe - Expedition Build!

:Wow1::Wow1: Goodness that is a TON of work! The 12V panel looks great, as does your trailer. Any details on the electric air horn? Keep us posted... :lurk:

    10th Gen Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon XL/Yukon picture thread(2000-2006)

No apologies necessary, I am flattered that you found it at random and linked to it.:ylsmoke: Nakota, you have a nice looking rig in progress, I have always liked the black paint with black wheels look. I am, however, quite intrigued by the white Yukon at the top of the photo list. ( at...

    10th Gen Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon XL/Yukon picture thread(2000-2006)

I was going to reply to this when I saw the thread title....and then noticed my rig is already shown. Thanks! I recognize the black wheels on the nifty rig above as Cragar Soft 8s, which I ran on my rig for about a year before I could afford my Mojaves. Looks like the suspension is stock.

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

I would guess that your torsion bars need replacing, especially with so many miles on them. As for the kayak transport, I used to have some cradles (not the J type) and did not like how far up off the roof they held the boats. Now, I just have some Yakima tube pads on the front and rear of my...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks for the compliments. Your question was interesting as I had not measured the height since doing the suspension mod in 2008. Cant believe it has been that long ago. Anyway, I have settled both front and rear just a bit over an inch since then, and have thus far (knock on wood, rub a...

    RTT Question

I think you would need to mount brackets to the top of the RTT to hold long kayaks. With a Suburban, you may be able to fit a RTT on the back and a couple of small white water kayaks up front, but a longer touring kayak will require a rack of some kind. I seem to remember someone here who had an...

    2006 Trailblazer Build Thread

VERY nice build. I can appreciate the multiple trips to the drawing board and your ideas are very creative. Good choice on the synthetic winch line, I was amazed at the weight difference, not to mention synthetic is SO much easier to handle than steel. Keep up the great work. :safari-rig:

Full size truck aftermarket or custom front bumpers.. post pics

ARB makes bumpers for Chevy trucks but it seemed to be to big for a Tahoe, it just didnt balance the truck visually to me. So, I modified a Land Cruiser bumper to fit, since it had smaller dimensions. Was a fun project and I am happy with how it turned out.
