Foam on top. You need that insulation between you and the cold air that comes through the air mattress

    2016 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro

I think we are getting off topic in your For Sale thread, but are you saying that TRD Pro’s don’t have sunroofs as the default option? That is good to know! Seems like every 4Runner here in Californa is ordered by the dealers with sunroofs. Increasingly hard to find one without.....but I...

    2016 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro

No sunroof? That would be awesome! So much headroom (says the 6'-7" driver). Sweet rig

    JEEP Setup picture thread

Stroked, from memory, the hardware we’re simple 90 degree angles from Simpson, obtained through Home Deephole. I think I used 3/8” dia. X 3/4” hex bolts at the clips and 1-1/4” through the plywood. I had a buddy tackweld the nuts on so that the I only needed one wrench to install them. I am...

2003 Mitsubishi Montero XLS P0300 code

The little screws inside the intake at the butterfly valve are known to fall out, get sucked into the engine cylinders and potentially do Bad Things. Do a search here in the Montero Channel on this, it has been discussed within the past year or so. It’s a bit odd to get the generic 0300...

    JEEP Setup picture thread

I built it from generic hardware parts and thin but strong aircraft grade birch veneered plywood ordered through Granhals lumber. The text before the first picture is a link to a larger gallery about the platform. I am +300 lbs and could kneel on it without deflection. I reused the...

    JEEP Setup picture thread

I had a 2006 LJ Rubicon. I set mine up for camping with family, as well as hitting some of the harder rock strewn trails available, such as Rubicon, Dusy, Dishpan, etc... Not exactly an overloading rig, but capable for sure. The basic Jeep was a 2006 LJ Rubicon, with a 4" spring lift using AEV...

    Gladiators on the Rubicon Trail

Looks like they rotated the “media drivers” in groups. The guys that recorded this first day flew out in the afternoon, and i’m guessing another group flew in the next morning to finish it out.

    Gladiators on the Rubicon Trail

I am surprised to hear that. They didn't LOOK aired down. Must be fairly stiff sidewalls, or perhaps they were Load E rated or something stiffer than might normally be used on a Jeep? I don't know. Just didn't see any compliance in those tires, and not much traction either.

    Gladiators on the Rubicon Trail

Wow, very cringy. They literally just dragged those through the trail. A few things stood out to me: 1. The lead spotter, the dude with the tats and the build, what an awesome attitude he projected throughout. Quality dude. 2. Lack of gloves really bothered me. Not only useful for rock...

What would you replace your LR3/4 with ?

Lexus GX 470. LR3 sized, V8, same chassis as the FJ Cruiser and 4Runner, or Prado (overseas market). Can be built up using ample off road parts availability from the FJ or 4Runner worlds. Nice interior, significant headroom for tall people!

    LR3 Buildout

Take a goood look at your front and rear sway bar bushings when looking at the suspension. Mine were totally fried. Easy fix. I just went with OEM at the time

    Camping Tents

REI Hobitat is pretty good, and will fit you well, but it’s not a hardcore 3+ season tent. What weather and climate are you looking to shelter in?

that bumper is sexy. A bit ba-donka-donk in size, but sexy. Just watch that rear departure angle!

    Crankshaft pulley bolt

To be fair, its not like its a "current" issue. I am not sure when it came out, but I think the new bolt was from 2001 or something like that. That's nearly 20 years ago.

LR3 V. 4Runner Need To Buy One Now.

Former LR3 owner with lots of seat time in Gen 3,4,5 4Runners. The LR3/4 is way more versatile, but you know that. Take a deep dive into Toyota head gaskets. I know the 4th Gen 6 cylinder engine had a common issue with blowing head gaskets, and it’s not a cheap fix unless you can do it...
