80t0ytc,
The old awning reinforcement patches can be seam sealed easily if they do start to leak. I think this was mentioned above a guy used an REI brand kit as well with success. Drop me a PM and I will be happy to send you a kit if your awning develops this issue.
Not sure how long ago you...
The weekender model basically has no interior bulkhead or bench and is like a cargo van of space. The bed section on the Khaya 2 sleeper is 2 sections, the main bed is 6' 4" long so it is easy to pop the rear section and someone hop down. With the rear section up you have about a 30" wide area...
Wow, something so simple creates such a stir for some folks. :) The awning is a piece of expedition equipment, not IKEA furniture. You need tools, you will need moderate mechanical skills, if not it is best to bring it to a spot that can fit it. The additional 2 hours of time to install is worth...
So the Khaya has what i would call ample room for two to sit and eat if weather requires and easy room for one to sit and use a laptop. Alternatively if more time inside is something you are thinking about, the weekender model might be the answer. We have a wild new water tank, pump, heater and...
The rivets were on the first 10 tents we imported back in 2015. It was the first run of EXP III models and they were tested but not tested for our fine rainy environment up here. :)b The design was amended immediately and all models since then have no rivets over the sleeping area.
That might not be a bad idea, here is a dimensional drawing to compare with your truck.
That may work as well, I attached some dimensions above let me know if you would like to discuss.
The silver and black units average about the same temp inside. They are lined with 25mm insulation and...
I have the 9 speaker Alpine in my '15 JKU and originally i built my own "plate" before Goose Gear was on my radar. It worked well and honestly looked okay but without the proper venting and support structure underneath, the sub woofer rattled and was useless. Fast forward to early 2016 and I was...
Drop me an email at rino@ok4wd.com and we will be happy to assist you with fixing your issue. Guessing that it could be as simple as a few sprays of adhesive.
HAHA, for sure man. I will be getting back to the shop after the holiday weekend, drop me a mail (rino@ok4wd.com) and i will see what i can do for you. Also thanks for the business with the suspension kit!
Dig the tarps, another option I've found is CGEAR sand mats. Not cheap, but really work well! https://www.cgear-sandfree.com/collections/original-collection/products/sand-free-mat?variant=47191026375
Not sure it would work, but really like where your head is at design wise. That would actually make a bug room much easier to produce and not have the need for rear gate zips.
The 6' Bed Full Size version is next up as it is the same length but a wider platform. :)
Thanks man and sounds like a cool project. We will also be launching a "weekender" model this May that is a DIY guy's dream!
Craig was helping you on a Khaya? Feel free to drop Chuck or myself a mail...
Right now we are a bit deep, our first two containers are sold out. I would say about 10 - 12 weeks at the moment.
Thanks man and for sure, you never know we may have some full sized options coming down the pipeline. ;)
