    Choosing a Trailer Brake Controller...

My choice based on many miles of towing trailers from the AT Horizon to large fifth-wheeled versions is Tekonsha's Prodigy. I suspect that if you contact AT, they will make a selection available for you. Allen R

    Sushi

That looks fabulous, Mike. Caught off Baja? One of our real treats on our recent trip to Alaska was fresh coho salmon that our daughter transformed into delectable sushi. Magnificent! Allen R

    new guy from iceland

Welcome atlib. It's been 20+ years since I was in your beautiful country. I fished the Laxá river and had a most enjoyable visit there, and I look forward to returning with my wife someday. Those are some nice looking rigs you've posted here. Allen R

    Sudden Temptation (Volvo...)

We've been extremely happy with Diana's XC70. Trip mileage is in excess of 30mpg, town is 25mpg. Good on tires (Michlelins on now, Continentals came on it), good on brakes (Here driver is most important, but the front rotors lasted over 80K miles.), comfortable and solid car. We recommend it...

    WTB Used Horizon Adventure Trailer

Diana and I have decided to sell our Horizon. We just returned from Alaska last night (Horizon Air, not trailer :) and float plane) so need a few hours to decompress and get our thoughts together. I'm off to run a few errands and then cut the neglected lawn this afternoon but will try to...

    My Conqueror and Rig!

I did very little. I found some storage boxes with outside dimensions which fit those side door openings, added some rails athwartship fixed with teflon slides (such as used on boat trailers) and aluminum guides (90º angle sections) to keep them straight. I mentioned the solar panel and charge...

    My Conqueror and Rig!

Ours came with most of the items you mention (except the canvas wardrobe) and our fridge/freezer was a "Minus 40", not an Engel. Not sure here, Honu, what you mean, but, yes, ours is not in our hands any longer, though I know its whereabouts. Allen R

    My Conqueror and Rig!

We sold it and subsequently purchased an Horizon/Chaser. We had Conquerer #2 sold in the U.S. (#1 went to someone in Washington). Stephen Goetz was the original importer. Health problems caused him to give up the franchise. We loved the trailer, but purchased a house in Baja about the same...

    My Conqueror and Rig!

Very nice, Dendy. In the for-what-it's-worth category, I added a 50-watt solar panel and charge controller to the battery bank on our Conqueror and that was more than adequate to keep the batteries charged. All of our lights were flourescent 12-volt and LEDs. This obviated the need for a...

    introduce myself-Toyota HDJ 100 -France

    No Country for Cold Men

I knew when I clicked on this thread that I'd need another cup of coffee. We've had Nordhoff and Hall, Preston and Child, McMurtry and Ossana, and now O'Connor and Hathcock. What a fun read from two talented guys. Many thanks for posting this one up. Allen R

    12V Coffee Grinder?

I like THIS ONE from GSI. Bought it at Sportsman's W'hse a couple of years ago, complete with the Javapress and insulated cover. The grinder is adjustable and works well. I also have an electric (120V) that I can plug into an inverter, but the GSI is replacing it. Allen R
