I have purchased a couple of cheap ones off of amazon that the build seems ok but too easy to keep adding things to "fill it up" and maybe leaving behind something because there was not the right slot or pouch for it.
You would be better off making your own made to fit the tools you will...
I much prefer tool rolls over a box in vehicle
Rolls usually don't rattle
They take up very little space
Unrolled they are very easy to access/see every tool
Boo/Bonner,
So did you guys upgrade the front suspension?
What were the part numbers and did you run into any "issues" uprgrading them?
The first thing I want to do is add a few inches to the front... As the truck is "new to me" I don't know if has always sat this way or if it is just "sag"...
Underneath basically YES... But sit in a GX470 and you will want to kick your 4runner to the curb. The Prado/GX470 have much better field view, much better seating (especially for the people in the backseat), and much quieter/smoother ride.
Not sure about you guys but as much as I wanted to like the 4Runner and the Taco's I could not find them comfortable.
When I was in my early 20s my family had 4runners and tacos they were ok for short rides but never comfortable for taller and larger of our family. Today the new tacos/runners...
Great build...
Is your GX rear still setting on AIR... or have you converted it?
My GX is still totally stock and one of the first things I want to do is make look a little more "level". I was thinking of OME upfront then using the airbags to level it out.
I really not too interested in...
Travel in Asheville kind of different. If you want to go North you must first go West/East (maybe south) before you can get there. ROADS all try to avoid elevation or Biltmore Estate...

I recently picked up an '07 GX470... (I am new to all this stuff so I know nothing as far as its "Overlanding" ability yet) But I must say the truck is NICE. The ride quality is good and if you remind yourself you are driving something with a solid rear axle you realize it is really very...
Be careful using wood for both the slide and the "grove"... If you build it tight in the winter (or desert) than in the summer (or Florida) it will be too tight. By using the "Plastic" as the slides you dont have to worry about the relative humidity as much.
As a Cabinet Maker I tell you even...
So I am very new to all this so this is most likely a dumb question:
I was watching a video of this group of guys doing a nice Overland Expedition and during one of the clips one of the rigs with an autotrans gets a warning light about the transmission oil temp... One of the more experanced...
Pedro,
I know this is an old post but I recently picked up a used '07 GX470 and am looking at bumper options. I was wondering if I could Trim the Bumper instead of trimming the Fender Flares?
