The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

The next step was to work on the hatch. So Beth traced the shape of the hatch curve onto ¾ inch plywood added 1 ½ inch thickness and cut it out with the saber saw . Then we traced out 7 more. And I got the job to rough cut them out. . Then Beth routed them to match the master spar. I was...

    Trailer towing off road videos

I think this thread is an excellent idea! Not that my trailer is even road ready, let alone off road ready, but the vids of others are fun to watch. Watching your newly built trailer run that trail was sweet skersfan! I'm not sure my truck is even that capable.....

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

I know, I know, you warned me. I may be able to get TacoDoc to do something with him during the "Basket of Cobras" event..... . Since the cat is unbagged: . 3M makes some of the finest hardware money can buy. Paint over it in a color of your choice, and if it breaks, it covered by their...

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

After the awnings were finished, and all the staining and varnishing dried (and sanded and dried and sanded and dried , ugh!) it was time to install some hardware! This should make at least some of the fancy pretty things we paid for (or made) come together as a unit and actually look like...

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

Thanks again for the compliments guys! The build is fun and with the two of us it's easy to bounce ideas (the design stage) back and forth and come up with solutions to problems we find. It also allows us each to work to our strengths and hopefully it will result in a beautiful and sturdy...

My 70' K5 Blazer build up

my 2 cents worth,I would: 1)Keep the Chevy V8.....if the 307 goes down, replace it with a 350, or even a stroker smallblock of whatever cubic inch you want. 2)Fuel inject it when funds are available 3)When the 3spd auto dies, replace with a newer overdrive unit like a 700R4 4)Patch the holes...

Questions... Off Road Teardrop or Off Road Tent Top???

When we rented the Silver Shadow (had to see if we liked a teardrop before bulding one!) we used (and will use with ours) a FirstUp gazebo. Worked very well setting it up just on the open hatch lid.

    Daily Driver

...and I don't know how my maintenance costs can get any cheaper. I mean, besides gas and fluid changes, the only expenses have been one timing belt, one set of ball joints and tie rods, and four sets of tires, and two sets of brakes. I've never owned a vehicle that was easier to maintain and...

    Daily Driver

I've daily driven the Tundra since it was brand new. Not afraid of "wearing it out", I can replace any component as it ages cheaper than I can buy another car, insure it, maintain it and repair it. I'll keep the truck and it's DD status, I enjoy driving it the 300 miles per week and can't...

    The 255/85R16 Tire Official List

That's exactly why I switched to a 285, although I love the 255 size, it's lack of availabilty was always a concern for me. I never had an issue with spirited driving on twisty mountain roads. Our Tundra handles very well for a truck and (when it had 255s)it could easily handle an "OMG!"...
