Change of plan, gone diesel. Need feedback!

Its very important to change the fuel filter often on the D-max. I have heard some guys do it every oil change even. I would probably change it every other oil change if you aren't driving it very often. Use good diesel additive too like Stanadyne on a regular basis. What usually kills the...

    Getting a toddler to sleep?

I had a few kids that used to get car sick so for road trips my wife would get dramamine, some of it had benadryl in it and some didn't. We called the benadryl dramamine "the good ones" and the non drowsy dramamine the not so good ones. Nothing like looking in the back seat and seeing all...

2001 E350 V10 Salem Kroger 4x4 For Sale (price reduction)

The only major issue I have had to deal with on a Ford V-10 is sparkplug popping out of its hole and pulling the threads with it. There is a kit to actually repair the threads while the head is still on, as long as you have room for the tools to fit. I have seen quite a few of the V-8 Triton...

1967 International Travelall 4X4 3/4 ton with Diesel engine

Its been on the market for a few months now. Looks like a pretty solid rig. Watch out for rust, especially up under the cowl. Probably have to plan your freeway merges and such but once up to speed will probably cruise along pretty good. Would make a pretty good camping rig.

    Best truck for the Apocalypse?

Good plan, I volunteer my wife too for zombie distraction while us menfolk drive off in the "crittergitter". Hopefully it will be fully stocked with drinks, chips, and a big screen with a good Superbowl library. If this is my last post you will know my wife read this.

    Camper shell and drawer system

Lots of babies have slept in drawers like that, its nothing new and dates back quite a bit. I know I have a couple of cousins that were put in dresser drawers for their nap like that when they were young. Cute picture too.:)

    Why not a Hummer?

Wow what a camper. I don't think I would have done that to a Humvee but I sure admire the workmanship and imagination that went into that build.

torque converter leak ?2000 f250 ...need help now guys ...thank you

Was the trans overfilled to begin with and then pulling a trailer up a hill the ATF got hot, expanded and went out the trans vent. I can't remember where the vent is on a Ford trans of your vintage but I know on some Dodge trans the vent is in the bellhousing and it looks exactly like a bad...

Check Engine Light decided to rear its ugly head again....

You have the sparkplug wires routed correctly right? Not wrapped around other parts of the wiring harness. How is your alternator, I have seen bad alternators do funny things to computer controlled vehicles. Check your battery terminals too.

Which tranny and tcase with a 6BT Cummings ?

X2. This would probably be the cheapest (for a diesel anyway) way to go unless you happen to have some more parts given to you.

Which tranny and tcase with a 6BT Cummings ?

Depends on the rest of the running grear under your Jeep. The easiest would be to get a stock Dodge trans and transfercase but Dodge switched from RH front axle drop 89-93 to LH 94-up.

    Frozen bolt!

I use all of the above ideas starting with the easiest ones first and progressing to the more difficults ones. Try a little heat and penetrating oil first, also give it a couple good wacks with a hammer when its a little warm. Sometimes the bolt just needs to know who is boss. Also...

    1992 Chev excab over heating

I would get a second opinion on the radiator. I would think for a 92 Chevy you should be able to get a HD radiator still.

WV to CA too much to see in 3 to 4 weeks

Yeah you will need passports for the whole family, kids included. Three weeks is probably not enough time to get them. If I was still determined to come west I would probably blast straight out to the Pacific in as short a time as possible and then take a nice slow drive up the Pacific Coast...

WV to CA too much to see in 3 to 4 weeks

I would stay away from alot of the southern US during August due to the heat, unless I was going to be on the water. Stick more to the northen states/Canada in August. I would also be realistic on just how many hours a day my wife and kids could stand to be in the car on your family vacation...

Bremach camper for Sonja and Jan Gehler

All the magazines I have read on it say it is offered with a 24 valve cummins as a diesel option here in the US. Still not too sure I like the styling of the cab but the powertrain options are sweet. Wish more manufacturers offered stuff like this.

Thoughts on flat beds & tool bodies

CHP can and will chase you down if you go by a weigh station in a flatbed pickup. Not every time and not every officer will. CA has been requiring flatbeds, contractor beds, etc, to purchase a CA number. My dad got pulled over back in the 70's with his old Ford flatbed and told he had to go...
