    Gen 1 Montero steering questions

What condition are the tie rods in? They're a wear item, probably well overdue for replacement. Crawl underneath, start pushing up and down on the steering linkages and find where the play is. There used to be a company the specialized in Gen 1 Monteros and Raiders, long out of business.

Where did you mount a compressor on a full size domestic truck?

There is an enormous amount of space between the frame rails and the bed body on most pickups. So much so that back in the day many pickups came with factory tool boxes there. That is where I'd put my compressor and tank.

    USA Defender Officially Coming?

O One of the articles I read mentioned unibody with subframes. I also read that LRJ anticipates producing 30,000 units annually. That is total production, not the U.S. allocation. Now, if total production is only 30K, what would the U.S. allocation be? 2,000? 1,500? Less? If we get...

    Lift options for my JKU

If you go drop brackets, get the Rancho set. They are welded together, not bolted together like the AEV/JKS (same) and the "adjsustability of the AEV/JKS is an over-rated feature.

Jumping Jack Trailer makes several models just like that with removable canvas tents.

Fiberglass M416/M100 Military-style Trailer Tub Kit

I would avoid the ACU pattern. Number one, it has proven to be an awful camouflage pattern in use and for that reason the Army is dumping it for a tweaked version of Crye Precision's Multicam. You may be able to source ACU cheap, while manufacturers work to rid their warehouses of it but once...

    USA Defender Officially Coming?

This is going to be a four door-SUV, think about that. It is also going to be a Land Rover. Land Rover builds other four-door SUVs, at different price points. Land Rover targets a different market than Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, and everyone else who makes an SUV. Land Rover sells every...

    When a winch line breaks...

Synthetic winch line is UV stable. Fishing boats winch in synthetic line every day, in the most UV intense seas around the globe, without issue. Synthetic winch line is also easy to find online, or if you live near any port of modest size. Easy to fray or snag? Hardly. Try cutting it. If...

A Jeep that might make someone switch brands

Those are the exact same tires as on the Overland JKU from a couple of years ago, LT285/75R17s. They fit and fold into the fenderwells just fine. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/31401-JK-Overland-Project-Expeditions-West-3-0

    USA Defender Officially Coming?

They'll make more money selling a few, high content models than on floor-planning a bunch of bare-bones base models on dealer lots. There is also the justification for a high price point to prevent undercutting the sales of existing models.

    USA Defender Officially Coming?

Why? The Dollar/Pound exchange rate for one. That they'll be exporting to the U.S., not building here fore another. That Land Rover USA will be pimping each one ordered to the maximum for a third. I seriously doubt one will be found in these shores for less than $80,000.00, once they arrive...

    Lift options for my JKU

If you are planning on adding a winch bumper, winch, roof rack, and the typical "overlanding" gear like drawers, fridge, etc. then I recommend getting the ARB Old Man Emu 2.5" lift with the heavy weight springs. I originally started out with the 2.5" Teraflex lift but ended up junking it after...

Trail Basket on JK with STOCK rear bumper?

Several companies make a basket that attaches to the tailgate and sits above the spare; probably a much better solution.

    2015 JKU Storage Question

The ARB Twin gets very hot while running and is amost 5" high when you include the elbow fitting, so I doubt there is enough room between the seat and the drawer back and with the heat issue I doubt you'd want it there. It'd melt fabric it gets so hot. Mine's under the hood on the MORE bracket.
