    Chevy 155" LWB Off Road

I haven't found the turning radius to be an issue. Its a little more than a 2wd I-beam Ford with the shorter wheelbase but I bet by the time you add a leaf spring front suspension it would be about the same. Overall length of the van is the limiter on getting turned around vs backing out (I...

    Chevy 155" LWB Off Road

I have an IFS Quigley Savana and I love it. I am always mindful of the breakover angle (especially because I have my house batteries mounted on the frame) but haven't found it to be a limiting factor so far. As with any big ass van the size itself is the limiter on where you can go (off camber...

    Box Van Help

Most (or maybe all that I've seen) of the SRW GMs have a 4.8 . Not that that can't be remedied. I'd base my decision on the box like 86scotty was hinting at.

2008+ Ford Econoline Front End Conversion Part #'s?

It is called an upper radiator support. It might come from Ford as part of the radiator support assembly. I haven't done this conversion, just disassembled this stuff to replace engines so I can't say what is actually need.

    Fridges

I just got a Truckfridge 65. I ordered it from Westy Ventures and had it in 2 days (it was drop shipped). I emailed a couple of questions before hand and he was quick to respond and his prices are good.

Mods To Store A Larger Tire In The Stock Location? (GM)

Consider just carrying the largest tire that you can fit for daily use. Maybe a 235/80 17 as a spare. Since your van is 2wd you can put the odd tire on the front to get you out in the event of a blowout. Then carry a plug kit and compressor that will take care of most flats. Maybe use your rack...

    L-track/Airline track for mounting seats?

I like those seat lockers. I'm guessing they're fairly expensive though so I'll probably be bolting / unbolting my seats for now. I'm sure it would be worth it if I was taking them in and out often.

    L-track/Airline track for mounting seats?

I just finished installing L-track with a 1/2" plywood subfloor. L-track is mounted on top of the floor ribs and backed up by steel. Track is flush with the floor. I have Ford Transit seats I am going to make mounts for. Going to use factory rubber mat on top for now and cut out for the track...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

Weighed my van today at the scrap yard. It is a 2006 GMC Savana (Chevrolet Express) 3500 long wheel base, 6.0L gas, Quigley 4x4, Cargo van. I just started the interior build so I wanted to get a close to empty weight while I still could. So far it has Monstaliner on the whole floor, and 1/2"...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

You could probably get a little more caster by compromising some on the camber. Max out the front adjuster then move the rear adjuster in to see how much caster you can get while maintaining reasonable camber. There is an adjustable ball joint available if that doesn't get you where you want...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

I believe you are correct. The newer half ton vans had their own 5.3 code LMF. I think it might have had VVT but not AFM. AFM is bad. I'm also pretty sure that nothing with a 4 speed had AFM

HillBillyRV Build Thread - 87 Ford E350 Quadravan Pathfinder Conversion

If your going to buy new wheels, think about getting 17s. They are more common now and, like you figured out, more new tire offerings. 16.5 is only cool if you have to change a tire by hand. Cool van.

    2004 Sportsmobile rear axle swap

I'd have no problem using a 14 bolt. Anybody who knows the difference is going to know its better than a semi float 60. I'd get whatever was at the junkyard that had the gears I wanted.

    Rear AC could it be?

That is just a rear evaporator/ heater core/ and a blower. It is part of a system. It is either teed into the factory system or has its own engine driven compressor and condenser underneath.

Ball joint replacement on Express van?

For the uppers get the whole control arm. Doesn't cost much more than the individual parts and saves on labor. For the lowers just do the ball joints unless you know the lower control arm bushings are bad. You will have to deal with torsion bar load on the lower control arm to change those...

    Floor questions

Maybe you could find a factory or aftermarket mat from a cargo van. That's what I have in my Astro. I had a foam mattress topper cut to fit on the floor that I just rolled up and stuffed in the back. Never really bothered me that the floor wasn't flat. Later I added HF puzzle mat on top...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

I recommend Akebono pads. They are the designer of the oe brakes and they seem to outlast and work better than most other pads I've tried. Rock Auto has them. Any premium rotor is probably ok. I'd buy rotors locally though since rock auto tends to not pack them too well. Power Stops would...

    1995 Ford Econoline E350 4x4

Cool truck. Hope you can get it at a reasonable price. I've bid on some things on govdeals lately (a couple awd vans and a couple trailers) and then watched them get into no longer a deal territory.

Anyone add a jumpseat/3rd seat to cargo van build?

I have a single Transit seat and a double. The legs that come on the singles are slightly different. They hook the same in the front but the single bolts in in the back. Still easy to remove, just not quick release. I am going to change the single seat to quick release style legs but I...
