Pretty straightforward setup that got my temps down. I stumbled into a sale on eBay too and picked the kit up for about 50 bucks cheaper than the norm, so make sure you check there when shopping.
Like stated, the topic has been throughly covered and the only drawback was that some owners with...
^^^ never heard they wouldn't convert any specific vans. all ive heard is that they wont convert a used van. something about the van has to come to them from a ford dealer in order to do any 4wd conversions. I could be way off, but that was my understanding.
^^^ Ill let the owner explain the conversion, but it was funny sitting in the van for lunch watching vids and seeing a few people rackin heads trying to figure out what they were looking at, lol.
very good day. thanks for twisting my arm to head up! back leg is still sore too. getting old is...
I used a TruCool 40K (47391) kit on my 03 7.3. Was done in under an hour and only spilled maybe 4-5 drops of fluid. Temps came down about 30 degrees. Very happy with the ease of install. All hardware needed was in the kit but I see where some of the older vans needed additional runs to partstore...
To the best of my knowledge ccv is or at least was making their own tops.
When I ordered mine he told me it was the last fiberine top he was gonna mess with since he was just finishing up the details with their new at the time high top setup. This was back in 2013-14. He didn’t say...
My pop top setup from ccv uses an aerodynamic style fiberine top. What’s defined as an actual high top I’m not sure, but I think the highest point of mine is 18”. From what I’ve read I think the limiting factor is the flange type of the topper and fiberine offers both styles. Iirc, the reverse...
ive wired in a hidden fuel cutoff switch in a few different vehicles in the past. pretty easy to do and nothing can drive away without a fuel source.
I also have a quick release steering wheel in one of our little race cars. lugging around a steering wheel is kinda a pita though.
A lot of van guys attach stuff to their side ladders. Might be a way to incorporate a ski rack onto one of them.
One of my buddies removed one of the rear windows on his van and replaced it with metal and made a paddle board rack that affixed to the new window. Thought that was a pretty crafty...
ive done the gauge cluster swap as well. i have pinout diagrams from my 03 7.3 van and the (iirc, an 01) f250 pu the cluster came from, but photobucket has my digital versions on lock down. i went back and looked at them and my notes make no sense to me now, and none of the van diagrams show the...
Not sure if agile off-road messes with rigs other than vans but one of the guys there named John used to work for fox and he’s made a really good name for agile by offering custom valved shocks for the heavyass vans. I know their custom valved fox shocks made a huge difference on my van and the...
I just had a vacuum pump go out on me last month on my 03 7.3 and there was no idiot lights at all. Scanguage didn’t register anything either.
We were on the road and the noise was noticeable, but sounded more like a relay going bad under the dash. Couldn’t figure out what it was until I was...
If it were me in your shoes I’d run it stock. If your happy with how it drives, run with it as is and replace items as they wear out. If they wear out too fast consider upgrading them as you go.
If you don’t like how it drives after adding the extra weight then you look into making upgrades...
not mine, posting for a friend...

being an autoxer cheapass, I run tires till the nylon shows too much that a sharpie wont get me through tech. so id run those myself, but never at a high speed where I could lose control from a blowout and risk hurting someone else besides myself.
im with dreadlocks though. I didn't think...
Scissor stairs seem to be the most used term. I typed in collapsible rv stairs
and most of the results say scissor in them.
After looking them up I now realize my buddy made me an insanely great deal on the ones he sold me. I had no idea they were that expensive.
Depends on the officer pulling you over. Many have no clue about sticky tires. if they can’t visually see the dot stamp some will just cite you and let the courts sort it out. You know, guilty till proven innocent.
My wife got pulled over one day coming home from an autox and the cop gave her...
