    Headlight Stone Guards

One of the coolest things about the laminx/clear bra is that there are templates for most all modern cars, grill, headlights, hood, fenders, etc. all the spots that take abuse from road debris. The places that sell it here locally can install it for you, or they can cut it out with a cutter and...

any honda owners in these parts that take their rigs offroad?

^^^ thanks lol. the build will happen and I guess if there's ever enough interest for rallyx in the area again I'll run in the mod classes. I was keeping them honest anyway :) first thing I need is some suspension. kind of why I made this thread to see if anyone had suggestions of something that...

Keep my Outback or buy a Tacoma?

^^^ nice setup! I'd like to see that setup sometime if you didn't mind. I think clutch has the right idea. Try the suby in the new environment and if it won't suffice move up to a truck.

    Winter tire test

^^^ ya theme the ones. Sorry, I knew it was some kinda nut gimmick. Either way they work great. We use them for rallyx and never take them off. They last us the same, basically 2 seasons. I'll eventually try the blizaks, but Les Schwab always prorates the observes so we usually end up with a set...

Fold out side windows for more space

Actually a really good idea if you can make it work. Have the blank hinge down with some kind of phenumatic or air strut like on a hood etc. have them open 90 degrees and the strut can double as a stop that could support whatever you store in there while camped. camp stove, cooler, bags of gear...

    Winter tire test

^^^ Winter tires are really squishy cause the are heavily siped, have lots of small, tall tread locks, and are made with a super sticky compound. So sticky they won't even assign snow tires a tread wear rating. A lot of poor boy racers use stud less snows for drag racing. If you can't get...

...well that's just spectacular  hope that trend doesn't continue.

    Winter tire test

holy crap, that does suck clutch. we see the road crews do that to our roads here before they put down a new surface and its a pita, especially on a motorcycle, but its never been permanent.

    Winter tire test

^^^ I assume he means how the roads have lower grooves where the tires from vehicles generally roll from high use. still have yet to run the blazzaks, but have used the toyo observes with really good results (both studless snows). work really good in snow and equally good as a rallyx tire. I...

Ideal Overland setup for family + dog?

fwiw, my van did this before I put a poptop on it and doesn't seem to be any worse since the top install. all vehicles are designed to flex. the light popping on every once and a while shouldn't thwart you from choosing a van if everything else about it suits your needs. good luck with your search.

any honda owners in these parts that take their rigs offroad?

honestly any vehicle will work fine if the owner has the will. its more about the driver than it is the vehicle, but I like the Honda cars and would love to see more of what people are doing with them. also curious how people like the realtime awd. ive gone places with mine that had jeep owners...

any honda owners in these parts that take their rigs offroad?

did a search for honda in this section and came up with 9 pages to sift through, but not much where anyone is really taking them too far from pavement. people doing anything cool with this brand around here? would love to see pix of them in action if anyone is using them for the non intended...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

^^^ like he said, its all about how deep you go with agile. its been a few years since we installed the kit, but all I remember was removing the small clips at the top of the spring and taking the weight off the front end. I could be way off. my memory isn't all that great these days. ive had a...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

^^^ if you can do all that, installing a set of shocks is a no brainer. like stated, once the rig is mobile and you can weigh it, get the axle weights and call john. he will get you setup and youll be a happy camper...pun intended ;)

    (DIY) Builder Burnout

^^^ all that is great advice! ive found getting another person involved is a great motivator, especially if they are as ambitious as you are about projects of this nature. people that can get excited about one off stuff and can share your vision help immensely to motivate and reassure you that...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

^^^ not a Quigley nutswinger, but in their defense, every ball joint was bad and all 4 shocks were spent. tires were e rated, but on their last leg. imo, that will make any heavy vehicle scary at high speeds. another van owner I know was having similar issues with his smb. his van was...

Shock Absorber setup for 4x4 Van - seeking advice

john at agile is a good dude. I worked with ramsey years ago when him and john were developing the rip kit (iirc, john was working for fox at that time). after talking with ramsey I was sure I wanted to take a chance and ordered a setup before he got slammed with orders. it was the single...
