Fuel leak near right rear wheel

While wheeling in Lakes Basin area a number of years ago, I had fuel leaking in the same vicinity. After attempting numerous times to recreate the issue, I was unable to find any leak. I parked and drove the rig up steep inclines with a completely full tank and no leak. I've never had the...

    Shizen's Gen3 camper build

Great work on the rack!! The ARB and winch added substantial weight, however I fitted OME H.D. suspension to help carry the load. No sag at all.

Yet another 3rd Gen Montero "Build", also story time!

The Haynes manual identifies code P1400 as "manifold differential pressure sensor circuit problem". Did you have the battery disconnected for a while before you drove it last? The "dying at idle" sounds like the process the computer goes through to "relearn" driving style.

    2006 Montero Limited Exhaust Repair

I removed the resonator in the rear when replacing the suitcase-sized OEM muffler. ...one less thing to hang up on and smash when off pavement.

Yet another 3rd Gen Montero "Build", also story time!

Looks great! It will transform the ride and performance of the rig! Sorry to hear about the cost of the fluid swaps... The transfer case is just a drain and fill (just like the diffs.), easy to do... The transmission flush is also easy, but takes a bit longer. Below is a link to a DIY auto...

Fan clutch failing, factory temp gauge is useless.

I also have an UltraGauge in my Monty. The temp. gauge needs to be soldered and it's way down on my list... (The OEM thermo. is 212* fully opened)

O2 sensors... black connectors, grey connectors

I replaced all four sensors back in '14 and ordered Denso parts. Each sensor has a different part number...based on the type of plug and length of wire. 234-4633 234-4656 234-4741 234-4742 Cheers

    One Spice?

Limited to one spice would force me to choose pepper; however, an "all-in-one" seasoning that I've found delightful since the 1970's is Jane's Krazy Mixed-Up Salt. Cheers

Will the new Superwinch EXP be worth the wait?

I've also had a good experience with the Superwinch X9. I have buddies with Warn, Mile Marker, and Superwinch products...they are all solid performers. I'd steer clear of Smittybuilt products in general...two cents.

    Using shackles made in China?

Crosby and CM shackles are what populate my recovery bag. I personally steer clear of shackles made in China. My brother prefers Van Beest (Holland and France).

    Gen3 Tire Size

Cooper S/T Maxx 265/75 on stock Gen III rims are a nice compromise. Outstanding overall performance off highway, great on winter roads with ice, etc... The have a very stout carcass; however, that makes them a bit heavier than most. Excellent MT/AT tread with decent wear and noise. .... two cents...

Gen. III middle row seat repair- bush mechanic style

Great question... When each one of mine failed, the seat was deployed and locked into position. I must have gotten lucky, because after monkeying with it for a bit the seat released and I was able to tumble it forward to repair the problem. ...sorry I don't have a magic answer If you can access...

Gen. III middle row seat repair- bush mechanic style

The middle row seats in the Gen. III are known for having the release cable fail when attempting to tumble the seat forward. I was able to repair the weak spot in true bush mechanic form...found some parts in the bottom of the tool box that took care of the problem. Below you'll see the small...
