another thing I would add to the opinions is for overland the SFA isn't the holy grail. if you're rockcrawling it's a must, but for Overlanding? How much more often are you traversing backroads with long miles of washboards vs crawling over rocks where the IFS is far superior? IMO for most of us...

I would recommend either an 80's 4runner with the 2.4l or 1996-2002 4runner with the 3.4l. 80's 4R easy to work on. (mostly) cheap parts with many aftermarket vendors. decent MPG. Very robust. Good longevity, even pushing past 200k. Also can be used as a truck if needed. 1996-2002 4R. 3.4l...

I can relate. There is just something about these first gen's that stick with you. My cousin first got me hooked with his '85 pickup. He's had some nice cars come and go but I'm pretty sure he'll be buried in his truck.

They are a great upgrade. I'm running the mediums F/R and the only (minor) issue I have is when I'm all loaded up with the trailer the truck squats pretty good. So I'm planning on throwing and AAL in there at some point. But overall I would highly recommend OME.

See if you can determine where it's coming in from. top, bottom, or sides. That will tell you where you should start looking. I know I'm missing the bottom seal that goes between the gate to the bed and I get some dust in through there.

I've done the tundra brake upgrade on my tacoma as well, and I'm currently running 235s on the stock 16" 5 spoke wheels. No lift. My tires only barely rub the fender at full lock and under compression. It hasn't ever been bad enough to worry about trimming. I've heard not all stock toyota wheels...
