Yep, they will get paint. I was in a rush to drive it when I got them from the driveline shop, and well...you know how that goes. Thanks.

My slower than crap CJ5 build.

Maybe it's because I was raised around British cars, but I love to have the windshield down. I actually took it off my Rover, but then that's a mostly trail rig. Summer heat and lack of A/C will have you begging for any source of fresh air. Truck's looking good. Keep the pics coming.

More parts back from the painter's. Some underside pics. Not the greatest pics, but it shows how well the colors work together.

Thanks everyone. Yes, finishing a project is a double sided coin. On the one hand, I get to free up all that space that the parts take up. On the other hand, I like the process. Once it's done, it's just a liability.

That said, we almost dulled it down even more with an additive, but we decided against it, because matching that sheen would be a problem if any repair work was to be done in the future.

I know, right? No, it's a PPG industrial single stage. The base/clear has too much gloss and depth for the message I am trying to send. I want the finished product to emulate something you may have seen on a farm back in the 60's. Thanks.

The tub is just sitting on the chassis for now, until I get the body mount situation figured out. Doesn't it look good? Thanks to Dan Watson for the great work on the paint.

Setting the tub on the chassis is pretty simple, even by myself. Just plumb bob down to a couple holes and set 'er down. The only item I had to install before the tub went down was the rear wiring, since once the body is on, you can't really get to the fuel sender, it was imperative to hook it...

Dairy Farm I'm calling it Dairy Farm white. It is creamy, and I love it. Enjoy the pics!

    Superrunner Updates - Stoffregen Motorsports

Thanks. The powder coating should be done today, so I'll have updates shortly. Thank you. I really love that motor. It has V8 horsepower and it fits nicely (ok, with some heavy modifications) into the early trucks. Plus it's very light. I've heard similar complaints about the tuning, most of...

I do too. This color needs a name. Butter ...? Buttered popcorn. Butter bean. Salted butter. Butter face.

Yes, time and lots of it. It's amazing how much time goes into doing something right. Thanks. Thanks, Brian.

This thread shows a 4Runner fender cut, which I did first on Inchworm's '87 4Runner - http://www.ttora.com/forum/18-pickup-early-4runner-tech/164292-4runner-fender-mods-101-a.html I did the fender cut on this truck about 2 months after that one, and only a couple minor differences between the...

And here's the new switch pod. Final mock up before sending the console, switch pod and boot ring off to get powder coated. You can barely see the new, thinner, longer front case shifter stick.

The new console had to cover all the wiring, which is a thick bundle, so I raised it up and built it wider than the original console. It also extends further forward to cover up the wiring under the stereo pod.

Final welding of the tunnel cover, seam sealer and then paint was next. This will be covered by the console, so I wasn't too worried about the finish. You get full access to the shifter mechanisms by removing the inner boots and then the top plate. Trail repairs are now much easier. This...
