2005-2010 Tacoma wheel backspacing & axle width?

Thanks man! Will do. I'll be at a hockey game tonight, but will find a Wi-Fi zone to PM you (or I'll just send one before I leave work today). Thanks again. Craig

2005-2010 Tacoma wheel backspacing & axle width?

Thanks barlowrs. That should be close enough. I believe the Jeep Ravine wheels I'll be using are around 5.25", as well (I'll measure tonight). I don't own a Tacoma, actually. All I have is the bare truck bed. The dealership may frown on me yanking the wheels off a Taco to grab the axle...

2005-2010 Tacoma wheel backspacing & axle width?

Hey there, Tacoma guys. I'm building an expedition trailer using an '05 Tacoma bed, and wanted to find out what the following dimensions to help me plan my axle width: Axle width (WMS-to-WMS) OEM wheel backspacing Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Craig

    Half Cabs

You should look at www.gr8tops.com. Matt (owner) does an amazing job with those tops! I'd be all over one of these if my daughters (ages 9 & 7) were older, and they weren't my regular co-pilots. EDIT: GR8TOPS offers a CJ 1/2 hardtop kit, but an OEM Scrambler 1/2 top/bulkhead would be the way...

Any CJ-8 Overlanders or postals ?

I was going to recommend checking out Jeff's (jscherb's) projects on cj-8.com, as well. He does amazing work, and he's not a "pro" - just a detail-oriented guy who plans well, and executes to his plan with precision. He's a great guy, and has done some of the nicest Jeep projects I have seen...

    Trailer battery/charging/wiring FAQ?

I got your e-mail reply as well, Martyn...thanks. I'll e-mail back shortly. So the inverter may not be as big of an initial priority as I expected (I could probably live without it for now, and possibly add one later when my budget allows). I don't foresee fast charging (and adding the 6G...

    Trailer battery/charging/wiring FAQ?

Thanks for quick reply, Martyn. Much appreciated. My plans aren't so much for week-long expeditions as they are for 2-3 day rustic camping trips 2-3 times a year. Eventually, a small refrigerator would be very nice (that would be longer-term, though), but other than that, I'm just looking...

    Trailer battery/charging/wiring FAQ?

I'm interested in reading up on how to wire a typical nose box for 110V power, and have read several threads referencing battery tenders, inverters, etc. I know there are ventless batteries (e.g. - AGR), and have also seen references to Optima yellow top & blue top batteries. I've done...

Intro & my "Swiss Army" trailer build using '05 Tacoma bed

What, Eric? You have the nicest, all-stock Alaskan Postal restoration I have seen. :sombrero: I'm just annoyed because now, jscherb on the various Jeep boards has "raised the bar" to an almost unobtainium height with his projects. Talk about inspiration!!! OK, back to the trailer project...

Intro & my "Swiss Army" trailer build using '05 Tacoma bed

Exactly my thinking. I'm a bit of a perfectionist (some would say "anal-retentive"), and would rather take the time to get it just right. I know bigwalton here on the board, ahd he's harassed me (in a fun way) about being picky with some of my Jeep projects in the past. Yes, I actually just...

Intro & my "Swiss Army" trailer build using '05 Tacoma bed

It doesn't look like major progress, but I feel pretty good about how it's coming so far. Well, a little math goes a long way. I measured long for the notch I had to cut out of the side rails to form the tongue, so I just have to do a little more incremental grinding & measuring to wrap it up...

Trailer build based on a utility trailer

I'm anxiously awaiting the photos, too (can't view them either). It sounds like a very practical and useful set-up. Craig
