2003 Silverado Z71 solid axle build

So you sort of have a Currie Anti-rock. How does the diameter of that bar compare to the stock bar? Did you ever have the stock bar rigged up with the SAS? How is the "anti-rock" on the road? How does it compare offroad to not having a bar at all? I've been thinking of doing the Anti-rock...

    Newbie with an Avalanche Question

I would seriously doubt the snorkel would have any effect on the MAF. The engine can't take in any more air than the throttle plate will allow. My Explorer has a MAF and I also run an 80-series snorkel and the only thing it's done is keep my filter significantly cleaner.

    Tire choice for 88 Suburban

These tires have very swallow siping and it won't be long before your tires look like racing slicks with a couple jagged grooves running around them. I'd stay away.

Lockers or limited slip? For my 06 ford expedition

For the occasional use like you seem to indicate, the cost of an ARB will be steep with little benefit if you aren't pushing the limits a lot. I have Truetracs front and rear in my Explorer. I take it offroad A LOT. I have found very rarely where a locker would be better than the TrueTrac-...

CRVAlaska Official Build/Adventure Journal of our 2001 Honda CR-V

I love non-standard vehicles like this. I've seen more Jeeps and 80-series than I can count.

The cost of big tires - Is it worth it?

That statement by itself is tough to defend on this forum. That statement saved it. Big tires are completely dependent on where you want to go. I have 33s on my shorter wheelbase (compared to your full sized trucks) Explorer and I think 35s would be perfect for the terrain I see. It's very...

    The Bowman Odyssey Rig

When you come to CO, the higher mountain passes and areas are still 1-2 maybe even 3 months away from being passable. We just got a huge snowstorm that dumped over 40" in some places. I'm in the Denver area if you need anything.

    1997 Explorer Build

I was out recently on a snow wheeling trip. A massive spring storm dumped up to 40" in places around the state. At my house we got 16 very wet inches of snow. But where we went wheeling, the snow was anywhere from knee to waist deep and was pretty fluffy. While trying to climb a steep slippery...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Probably something like this: they signed up a new sponsor that said "we'll give you serial #001 if you test and film our product in action". And XO said: "that kind of camper is another solution people use while overlanding so we'll give it a go".

    1997 Explorer Build

While on a day wheeling trip, I came across a campsite that was empty but the fire was still warm. One of the guys I was with had onboard water and put it out like a fire truck. It was pretty sweet it got me thinking about a setup of my own. Also at the fire was an axe. I also carry a Katana Boy...

    1997 Explorer Build

Next up was a platform rack from Eezi-Awn: I only took one trip with this rack. I worked well but the SAS means it's WAY up there. Loading a rack at 9500 feet is tiring. But this rack isn't light- even empty. And having that weight up high still makes it a little tippy at times. So I...
