    King Shock upgrade

I put the Rough Country 2.5 progressive springs on my LJ last summer. I am satisfied with the ride/performance, except for the shocks. Recently switched out front shocks to Bilsteins and the difference was immediately noticable. I will do the rears as time/$ allow. RC products are probably...

Jeep reveals Moab Easter Jeep Safari concepts

Amen - my son was astounded the other day when I told him that up until a few years ago the stock jeep came without radio, a/c, rear seat, etc... his words exactly... "huh, a REAL jeep" :-)

    Winch Opinion?

Here are the stuck pics as promised. Sorry for the hijack, but this seems pertinent to your question. AS each of you know, pictures never do justice... it was way worse. As you look at the second picture you may be able to see that the entire front bumper/winch assebly was under water... adn...

    Winch Opinion?

I have experience with 3 winches. Warn HS 9500, Milemarker (?), and a Superwinch S9000. The warn survived the fire on my first Rubi (RIP) with some replaced paower cables and new solenoids. It now lives on my son's 2001 TJ. More info in a minute. The Milemarker was on a Landrover Disco...

2004 Wrangler Unlimited Build: Need advice on interior space, more.

Nomadic LJ hits it on the head with this. Sparing you too much detail, I have just shy of 200,000 miles when you combine the two Rubicons I have had. On my 2003 we were doing a lot of rocks and hard trails and went to 35's. My trrail buddies also went to 35's or even 37's. In every instance...

    D30 broken axle shaft removal

Thanks guys. He is back on the road with all new fluids, etc... The clutch has a little chatter to it. With all the sand and mud and water, i imagine it could need to be replaced eventually.... Yes these were stock shafts and he runs 33x10.50's. good enough set up under normal circumstances...

    D30 broken axle shaft removal

Dare I say... V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.... Those of you who identified twisted axle splines were correct. I was about to give up and just pull the driveshaft and make it so he had a 2 wheel drive jeep for the time being. figured I'd give it a few more whacks for good measure. It took full swing hits...

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

World's best field expedient flat repair. Performed by our guide Chris on the Southern Traverse Epic in SW Virginia. Zip ties, plastic card, duct tape. Tire was completely blown. Lasted 20 miles of single track with my fat behind daring it to blow... Two shots from several years ago at...

Pics of your bike on your vehicle!!

I welded the arms from an old hitch rack to the top of my Bog Daddy Offroad spare tire swingout. I use a ratchet strap to secure it and a small bungee on the front wheel to give just enough resistance to keep it from banging around. The arms of the rack can unbolt at the top so I can take it...

    D30 broken axle shaft removal

Thanks for this. I cannot see it being bent, but then again it was stuck on the bottom of a creek bed, where the sand washed away and the jeep sunk deeper and deeper... kind of like when you stand in the waves at the beach and sink deeper... Point being as we did finally get it free it was the...

    D30 broken axle shaft removal

OK, so I pulled the passenger side axle assmebly and used a rod, past the cross pin and hammered against the end against the drivers side axle shaft.... no go... So I welded a bar ont the axle shaft and pulled, hammered, etc.... and it is not coming out period. It will rotate independently of...
