The roof top tents are indeed pretty much a universal mount. It is more a matter of space than vehicle type. Most all of them will fit on a 2 door model.
Roof top tents range from under a hundred pounds up to just over two hundred, depending on the model. But most are under 150. The main...
Thanks for the kind words, and the comments about our navigation. We can see that being a bit confusing, so we have changed it. Our links to our brands on the introduction pages are now entitled "Products", to make it a bit more clear. We appreciate the input.
Thanks!
Fantastic Job, Derek. The rack looks really nice on there, and I am glad to hear it is a solid mount. The fleet looks pretty darn nice as well. Congratulations!
Eezi-Awn has a couple other enclosed options. The Globe Trotter, which is designed for lower mounting height. And the Globe Traveler, which is the same as the Globe Trotter with a mounting height of up to 7'.
Cheers,
You can buy the Delorme western or eastern versions for around $35, or the whole US for $65.

Cheers,
I struggled with this issue for some time. I asked around a bunch, and got some good advice on this forum. But I believe the best advice was from BajaTaco. Chris is pretty good at this stuff. He advised me to go with the DeLorme Topo software, and I also picked up a bluetooth GPS receiver...
Hello Gentlemen,
I thought I would put in a few words here to hopefully answer some of the questions brought up here.
The NL Intelligent Solenoid uses an 85 continuous/400 peak amperage Cole Hersee solenoid, and it can be easily replaced with their 200 amp continuous solenoid if preferred...
I haven't quite calculated the departure just yet, but we should keep in touch. It would be fun to head down together, if it works out. I'll give you a head start.:sombrero:
Cheers,
Great thread. I will take the suggestion and get mine weighed next time out.
I weighed my 100 Series Land Cruiser, fully kitted but unpacked and little gas at 6890 lbs a couple years ago. It has a few mods to help the weight, but I am fairly sure I am over the top. Handles great under any...
I had a chance to sit in the Scheel Mann seats while at the Abentuer Allrad show. They had a large selection of models set out to try. I found these to be more comfortable than the Recaros I have tried. I am 6'4" and around 250 and chronic 20 year back injury, and these were fantastic. I...
We have been toying with an idea for some time now, and haven't moved on it yet. Thinking about it again. I agree that most of the kits out there are not focused to the niche we find ourselves in. They are either too big or too small for the purpose, and usually have a bunch of stuff that...
Equipt will be there. Last year in Leadville was our first time to the LRNR. In spite of the 100 Series in the vendor area, I was welcomed with open arms. Great bunch of folks. I had to dust off my Rover speak a bit. It has been quite a while since I was in the Land Rover owners community...
Great idea, Scott. Spread the love around. The trophies were an absolute hoot! I am sure that this will be a success anywhere you choose to take it. I look forward to hearing more.
Cheers,
Happy to help. Actually, the external bows are roughly 1/4" in diameter, solid material, and are fitted into pockets on the outside top edge of the tent. The internal bows are similar to 1/2" ID metal tubing and have spanner straps between each bow and to the tent base to position the bows...
The Eezi-Awn tents do use a wood panel, for several good reasons. The wood that is used is a very dense material, similar to a teak or other hardwoods that are so dense they will not absorb water. Then they urethane encase the wood for a better look. They have tested other options have stayed...
Thought I would throw a photo or two into the mix as well.
Eezi Awn Series 2000, 2.5 meter self retracting.
Surf and Turf a while back.
The second photo is more recent. A couple models in Lisataba Africa.
Third is a brand new model. 1.5 meter Spoyla awning, designed to come off the back of...
With a little bit of ingenuity, I don't see why not. What are currently being used to mount axe, shovel, hi-lifts to the side of SD racks? Would a similar mount allow a case to fasten to it?
shipping would be $26
Cheers,
