I carry Maxtrax too but four of them. Usually when you get a 4x4 stuck both axles are in trouble. Got stuck in soft sand on a Baja beach a few years back and used all four and wished i had two more for the trailer.

I was up front and had a clear view of the goings on. I believe it was a real roundup and probable branding. But also clearly a lot of the riders were dudes and dudettes but they were pushing the herd too. Looking back there was a row of identical white tents suggesting some dude operation...
Very true! However when a group starts out on a BDR, or any long point to point, there is a strong need to finish it all. Especially in my case leading the trip. However i don’t think ill do any more long trips. I wanted to quit more than once but that press on regardless mantra was in my head...
Boondock camping on clear waters is my kind too. We did find a couple of good spots on the WYBDR but too early in the day to camp.

The Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route was pretty darn tough. I have done all or significant parts of the BDRs for NM, CO, MT and ID. None were as hard as WY. The week before we arrived there was a week long Jeepers Jamboree. Maybe it was wet and they damaged the trails. Maybe its all the Razor...
Did the previous owner give her up because of the digging? My first golden was a digger but only when told ok. She loved to dig in sand because it was so easy.

Jerry its good to see you and the pups back. Very long winter here too. Lately its spring, winter, spring, etc. Supposedly the second highest total snow on Grand Mesa ever. Probably see flooding next.
