    F250 flatbed camper build

Thought I'd start a build thread here. 2022 F250 Tremor with the 7.3 that I purchased used last summer. Installed a Bowen Customs flatbed, with the forward garage option this summer . This bed option basically gives you an 8ft bed, but on the shorter wheelbase... extra overhang on the back...

    2021 F250 Godzilla Build

I'm considering installing air compressor behind the back seat, using this (somewhat pricey) kit. And Transferflow has a long-range 58 gallon tank - I purchased one for my 2022 7.3l crewcab. Don't have it installed yet. Just don't pass out from the price :) It's gonna cost you $3k-ish...

SOLD : $13,100 / 2005 Suburban w/solar, fridge, camping conversion, awning, cargo pod, sink w/water

yeah, already missing it a bit. I think people under estimate how nice these are for weekend camping. The exits on each side of the vehicle make a huge difference when sleeping two. However, looking forward to a vehicle we can stand up in when we're stuck inside on rainy camp days :) Hopefully...

SOLD : $13,100 / 2005 Suburban w/solar, fridge, camping conversion, awning, cargo pod, sink w/water

Fair enough. But again, these are cheap and easy to work on, parts are plentiful, and I just ran a quick craigslist search for my area - there are currently 4 around me, with mileage over 300,000 for sale, and another half dozen with over 250,000. Definitely not a new vehicle, but honestly not...

Hybrid or Gas for full-time camper? MPG guesses?

well, this question will still be hanging out there. Just bought an F250 with the 7.3 gas engine. Still going to wonder what the hybrid MPG on a 1/2 ton would be... but that'll be for someone else to experiment with :)

Overland through Niger, Chad, Central African Republic

I still work in the CAR about 3 months every year (with the NGO www.waterforgood.org, been with them since 2013, and also grew up there from 1987-1997). If anyone is looking for places to stop, camp, get water, etc in the western part of the country, I've got lots of contacts.
