    Show your Thumper!!

End of 2 decades.......Tonight I sold my old friend KLR to a young man in law school with grand dreams of adventure riding. He drove 2 1/2 hours from Wyoming to buy it. I'm thrilled that it'll live on to fulfill a young mans dreams. When I bought the KLR in 2004, I was starting a new adventure...

    Show your Thumper!!

LOL....I was going to turn it into my bourbon bar upstairs but, just not enough room. Hanging on the wall would have been interesting but also not sure my walls could hold 400 lbs....Love the idea!

    Show your Thumper!!

Looks like my old Gen1 is heading down the road today. I'm moving to a T7 and wasn't planning on selling this guy since I've owned and ridden it for over 21 years but, I just don't have the room for this and a new bike.....kinda sad.

I Found it in the Woods

Junk in the woods..... We live in the ghost town of Tungsten, Co. The white tents up on the hill in the B/W photo is our land. Every spring I wander our property and usually find a neat piece of old steel that gets added to the "junk" pile. The "junk" pile is mining/milling debris that was once...

I Found it in the Woods

Found this old boy sitting at the base of a pine tree, in the Colorado Rockies, at about 9000 feet and off trail in the forest.....since pull tab beer cans disappeared in the 70's or close to 50 years ago, I suspect some good ole boys from the front range were camping out there and forgot to...

2011 Tiger 4x4 Camper, coming soon, located in Arizona

While I love our 1994 Tiger on a Chevy 4wd Chassis (and 200k on the odo) if there was one I would buy if ours died it'd be this one on a Ford 4wd single cab chassis with the big gasser motor! Parts are cheap and available, strong truck and drive train, easy to work on, mechanics on every corner...

Are there no side by sides discussed here?

Short of small rural farming communities, most recreational towns/cities in Colorado and Utah have outlawed them. And, there is no provision for them on federal interstates/highways or state highways.

Except down the road to the DMV.

Are there no side by sides discussed here?

Yep, a base Wrangler is $32k and a base Bronco is $36k.....think of all the places you can go in either one!

Are there no side by sides discussed here?

Question? Have you seen the current fully optioned SxS that now cost $45,000 and up? D@#$.....I couldn't believe it when I saw it last week at the MC Dealership. The ones we use to use for work were in the $12-$15 range (of course that was over 15 years ago). I mean you can still buy a low...

Sewing Thread....A discussion on making your own adventure textile gear.

So true! I've often thought of adding a couple pieces of aluminum angle stock to make the table straight but, then I visit several large commercial sewing manufacturers and all their tables sag.......

Since this is an Overlanding forum I figured I'd spice this thread up with a little sewing/hi-lift leveling action! These old machines can get darn heavy when trying to level by yourself!
