I was fortunate for an opportunity to compare directly 2nd Gen Tundra models with hatch vs barn doors in person prior to making our decision. I agree that each person has different needs and wants from the camper setup, I was sharing that we personally have liked the barn doors more for our use...

My $.02 is: 1. Glad we got the hatches as we stand on the tailgate a lot. It's kind of our porch and nice to be able for me to stand up straight getting in and out. I'd hit my head a lot. 2. Barn doors on both sides. They will get a lot of use and aren't something that can be easily added...

Very easy; and would be super simple to pull back and reinstall. It's a well executed concept by OVRLND for sure.

Dang! You went full send on that build! Just finished my self installed insulation, and a headliner from the ovrlnd folks. It's awesome. You will love all of the options you went with.

Do you climb out your drivers side hatch and then remove this to get out?

Not really able to help on this other than to say it is 100% doable depending on the size of your truck/camper. With our bed pulled out, there is a great space below to put a bunk. We are going to be building a bench on one side, which could be combined with an L shape bunk on the cab-side...

Hammock Daisy Chain Straps - $7 and a handful of self tapping screws and you'll have close to the same thing for under $10 total. I have on order, and am going to put in T-track in the same spot, so I can connect battery powered lighting, hooks for accessories, etc. using t-nuts and move it...

That makes sense! Didn't to intend to sound like I was nit picking - I don't have a Tacoma and was really interested if it had a 12v tap for DC to DC as that would be sweet in addition to the 120!

Number one issue for me with portable panels has been wind blowing them over while I'm gone from my camp. Isn't the Tacoma bed receptacle AC?

We chose to not put the solar port on ours - having had solar on a few previous setups our thoughts on skipping it were: I prefer having a movable solar setup, as sites don't often have good exposure. We bring solar on specific trips where we will be stationary more than 3 days - which is very...

Thanks! Finished up my insulation for the most part today. Got a bedrug installed, and thru bolted the camper to the truck bed rails so I could ditch the clamps. Now to figure out side covering and to order a headliner!

I've gone through the thread, but haven't found what folks have found works well for covering the ceiling? It looks like OVRLND uses a stretchy headliner fabric that is pulled taut, and then put a track channel nearly the length of the roof? This looks like it is being put on either before the...

We started with making a list of things learned from our past camping setups; and what we wanted our next one to accomplish. We weighted the importance of the things we wanted what we wanted to build in our camper vs what we wanted to buy. We've built a few setups before, so we know how much...

Appreciate the heads up and the recommendations, will be sure to check those out! We've been monitoring the weather over the last week and are pretty geared up - if we aren't feeling it we'll bail and grab cheap accommodations in town.

Heard from Maggie that I'll be able to pick up mid November! Has anyone had any success in insuring their camper? I'm going to call my insurance company and ask about accessories coverage as one idea. Snow and a low of 19* here on Friday/Saturday. Bought a Lavaner Pro Alpine 5kw diesel...
