That's awesome. I love the simple setup (<- have same) even if this forum is particular to gawking at complexity. lol. Cheers

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

I've done some crazy ******** in a stock Subaru and have never reeeeally found the limits and had to turn around and go home. My Forester hasn't seen the miles my old Outback has but the latter never left me stranded on a trail (as in nothing ever broke except for that one time)...

    Subaru Forest Questions

I second that. If you want a stick upgrade to a stage-1 clutch right away. Even with a stickier clutch if you're giving it some gas on a steep hill the engine won't stall. In my experience it's always been the clutch that fails on steep climbs/obstacles. Then engine has more than enough torque...

time for a new rig.been without a car for 3 yrs almost

I would assume a 20+ year tech can fix just about anything. That being said, Rodeos are pretty cool.

    Primary Diesel-fuel Filter- Touareg

I would suspect such failures were more often then not caused by improper maintenance and small errors, like not getting the o-rings right on the primary filter. Beyond that, I wouldn't have any other input. Cheers! And good luck

    Primary Diesel-fuel Filter- Touareg

doesn't the Tuareg already have, like, three fuel filters before the secondary pump?

I forgot that Subaru ownership is more or less a cult in Minnesota. Cool pix!

    Winter set up and modifications

I change nothing. I would say I just bring extra socks but even in the summer I'm liable to be caught in a monsoon and a cold night so there's already extra socks.

It is a utility rig at the moment. But still used for a lot of exploring

    How good are Subarus?

You can go REALLY REALLY FAR in a stock Subaru with slightly grippier tires, and do 90mph on the way to the trail.

Yeah, the size of the Fozes make up for lack of anything else in a lot of situations. Like devil's staircase in Sedona. Normally pretty tricky but when your too narrow for the deep ruts it's pretty easy.

Thanks! Yeah, it definitely isn't the usual suspension noise but more like something under tension releasing all at once. Louder than the already noisy struts. I think I may disconnect the sway bars and see what that does. Also no lift. Thanks!

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

posted this elswhere but here's here for gits and shiggles. Also I HAVE A QUESTION So every time I get all cross axl'd or generally when my sway bars, or something in my suspension, are put under a good ammount of stress, there is a "clunk". When I get way off-kilter and a wheel ends up off...

2014 Subaru Outback need suggestions on tires and rack

Just get General Grabber AT/2's They will take you anywhere, and they will fit. Simple and easy. I've never had a problem with the AT//2's on even the most severe circumstances you would ever take a Subaru (Read: I've TRIED to get stuck and failed to do so).

Also worth noting, you don't REALLY need oil in the EJ25

    School me on Subaru's

They are all good, but more utilitarian than other vehicles in their class. Also tougher.

    The #RogueWagon

Just the base model X. I wanted torque at 1k RPM Interesting. Have you ever had an issue with that? In the previous wagon I never really ran into problems. I'm SURE there was water in my diffs and tranny but nothing failed.
