    Suburban/Tahoe barn door question...

On the 92-99 models one issue with barns doors versus the tailgate is access to the back when towing a trailer. With larger trailers too often the tongue jack is too close to allow the tailgate to go down when the trailer is hitched up.

    Ram Rebel first drive

I'll admit I have yet to try it, but it seems using that dash mounted knob as a gear selector would be ergonomically awkward.

Fullsize Pickups; Half Ton Trucks.........Which & Why

That is what will probably keep me in the GM camp. I don't wrench on mine that often, but I'd like to have the option.

Fullsize Pickups; Half Ton Trucks.........Which & Why

My preference tends towards GM and Ford. I don't know enough about Dodge trucks to have much of an opinion. The same with Toyota outside of my opinion that I don't think they've been in the full size market long enough to have all the potential major issues solved. My thoughts on GM trucks: -...

Suburban/Yukon known issues list to fix before it's an issue

Buy or borrow an OBDII reader and check for codes. There are trouble codes related to the transmission that won't trip the check engine light. If you have any make a note of them. Whether you have any or not, get the transmission flushed. Have this done somewhere reputable or at a dealer so...

Nice camper. Here's my 99 Burb hitched up to ours. I was quite pleased with my parallel parking job that day.

Suburban/Yukon known issues list to fix before it's an issue

Regarding the upgraded fuel injection spider for the Vortec engines, the GM part number for the complete upgrade kit for the 5.0L and 5.7L V8 engines is PK93441235. This gets you the spider and a set of new gaskets for the intake plenum.

    99 Chevy K1500 "Ron Suburgundy"

Maybe this will help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0tsVSYroKM The actual R&R of the pump is at around the 7:45 mark.

    99 Chevy K1500 "Ron Suburgundy"

What he said, but you can probably get away with keeping at least a 1/4 tank. This has been standard procedure with my 97 Yukon, which I picked up in 06 with just under 80k miles and now has a little over 130k. I've never had to put a fuel pump in it, and the fuel pressure was recently checked...

    99 Chevy K1500 "Ron Suburgundy"

The twitchy fuel gauge needle may not have anything to do with the fuel pump. The gauge in my 99 Suburban was twitchy before and after I had the fuel pump replaced. I think the problem might just be the stepper motor in the cluster.

    Suburban-itis!

Rust should not be an issue with a Pennsylvania native 97 or later Suburban. The rear bumpers can get rusty, but as long as the sheet metal is all factory stuff the rest of the body should be fine. That is unless the previous owner's been parking the thing in the ocean. As for mods, I haven't...

Need Some Help 88-91 vs 93-99 Suburban

The 96-99 Suburbans will handle all of the above with no issue. As for good AC and heat, it's pretty easy to find one with rear AC. In that generation each row of seats has its own overhead AC vents and the system works quite well. The seats are also very comfortable, with cloth being more...

    Expo Suburban/Tahoe thread

I have a stock 97 Yukon. Owned it for about 4 or 5 years now. Never heard of any issues with the torsion bars, but the factory diffs can be a weak point. I've read plenty about people blowing the G80 factory gov-lockers while trying to rock crawl, and there are no locker options for the...
