How to build a quality awning for less than $100

I rigged up one of these beauties and it saved us a bunch of times from downpours and sun through our 8 months on the road. But I had to take it off once and put it back and on and since then it sags in the middle collecting water. I tried tweaking the install a few times to try to tighten up...

    Who uses an Indel-B refrigerator?

I was unlucky with IndelB. As mentioned above my new fridge wasn't cooling properly; once sent back to TruckFridge they determined it had some loose wiring. Second one I was sent must had a body impact as the top and bottom plastic parts didn't fit together properly and the edge of plastic was...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

The first setup on my subaru was done by an Audio shop and they grounded to the body; used to run 12v fridge and some usb charging with no issues. I'm doing a reinstall on my new rig so will ground to the starting battery to firm things up and avoid any possible problems. Now thanks to Dave...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

I'm sure the answer is in here somewhere but with 67 pages I'll be drunk by the time I find it... Any issues with grounding the house battery to the body instead of connecting to the starting battery? I'm pretty much referring to the very first diagram.

    Who uses an Indel-B refrigerator?

guess the age of the thread is a good indicator of the experience people have with an equipment ... :) Few questions for the IndelB owners. Do your units get warm/hot around the vent's and the plug housing panel when working at full throttle? Does the ambient temperature prevent the Frig to...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

some info from the suppliers that might be helpful to others regarding the lift.. Contacted Kings and they said their raised springs(98 Forester) would give ~25mm(~1inch) lift front and back. Also contacted kyb and input from them is that they don't recommend lift of more than 1 inch paired...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

I just read something similar but it was with King springs. where did you read that? Was it the combo of kyb excel/g2 & ironman lifted springs for SF? Have an order in for kyb excels and about to pull the trigger on the ironman springs..

    Omidvar Brothers Museum in Tehran....

Some members might be familiar with the Omidvar Brothers. They did a series of overland trips in the 50's first on their motorcycles and then on a citroen. On a recent trip to Iran I got a chance to visit the Museum in a complex that used to be the former Shah's palace. Beautiful grounds and...

    Forester: ExPo Subaru Project

Suspension Upgrades—Ironman +35mm and KYB GR-2 > The strut in that same front corner was also blown. With just over 100,000 miles on the chassis we opted to simply replace all of them. KYB’s slightly stiffer and better handling GR-> 2 series struts were selected, and they do not disappoint. >...
